GAME OF THRONE [mod event]

[When Dipper comes on screen he's in the supernatural research room that's attached to the Labs, where various Legionnaires have holed up over time to study the Book of Magic. Ray and Valeria are in there with him, working on the book behind them.]

This is so exciting! Ohmygosh.

Okay, so for anyone that's new, a while ago we had to get the spear of Destiny - like that spear of Destiny, that poked Yahweh-know-who? - to re-imprison the Spectre. Because we were the ones that let him out in the first place to stop this giant planet-eating guy with a stupid hat called Galactus.

Anyway, that's all taken care of, the Spectre's back in his box, but when we went to find the spear we met this guy guarding it that called himself The Wizard - like the Wizard, like he was the most important one or something? - and alongside telling us where the spear was, he gave us this magic book. He promised that if we could unlock its knowledge we might be able to find something to use against Chronoblivion.

We did a lot of research and found out it was legit but it's all wrapped up in codes and spells and riddles. We managed to unlock it enough that Ray was able to use its power to banish Eclipso to the room with a moose dimension, a dimension that's just...a room with a moose. (I don't get it, either). In that fight on Apokolips.

[Dipper rolls his hands around each other to show he's trying to fast forward.]

Anyway, a bunch of us have been working on it for a while and it turns out Gohan decoded some important encryptions before he got zapped home and he never got to tell the rest of us! I was going through his old notes to see if we missed anything and we were able to use it to figure out how to unlock the last spells guarding it. We're unlocking the last of it right now!

Brainiac got help from Sorcerer's World to use those magic artifacts we got from that marriage planet and combined it with technology to shield the research room, so nobody has to worry about any eff --

[Something crackles behind him, where Valeria and Ray are working. Some of Ray's equipment starts making alarming ticking noises. Ray says, "Definitely a sharp uptick in PKE valences...we may want to duck."]

[Dipper turns, yelps, and ducks just in time to avoid magical energy that zaps through the room like lightning. A more subtle wave of magical energy sweeps past after the initial zaps, spreading out all through Legion World. Val, Ray, and Dipper are just fine but frogs start appearing and raining from the ceiling in their research room, and the book floats off the table, completely wrapped up in ethereal glowing golden chains. Other Legionnaires throughout Legion World might also find strange magical effects spreading out all over.]

Uhhh.

Whuh oh.

[Widowmaker was currently on the beach in Sombra's biome, apparently having been walking through the surf with a mai tai in hand... except the waves behind her are quite frozen. And she looked very Displeased.]

[One of the lounges is full of cats. Cats everywhere. At least half a dozen of them have decided that they need Wash's attention, or at least space on his lap. He looks absolutely thrilled.]

[Several people have to have heard the horrified screaming issuing from Bunny's portion of the lab. Multiple screams. Multiple.

To Dipper, some strange shirtless guy directs the Question of the Moment.] WHAT DID YOU DO?

[This panicked question is followed by a more subdued private message - a voice, not video message - to Ray.]

Mate, I need a favor, and I need it on the double.

Any word on when we'll get this fixed ...?

[His voice sounds different. It's still unmistakably his, but that echoey warble that underscores every word out of his mouth is gone.]

Whuh oh is one way to put it.

[ It's Robbie's feed, and Robbie's room, and Robbie's cat is pawing at the blonde girl's face with an increasingly fluffy tail.

She's wearing Robbie's shirt, too. Smart people will put it together. ]

[Canny observers may note that while he will sometimes send messages with his helmet on, North doesn't usually do so when he's not on a mission. That, and he's not usually faintly glowy.]

Anything for us non-magical types to do? Or is this a 'technical difficulties, keep your arms and legs inside the vehicle' type of situation.

[Kubo's not holding his shamisen in this video. He's holding a small blue keytar with a raised eyebrow and a flat expression.

He presses one of the keys and the board emits a fart sound. Another key emits a different variation of the fart sound. The next, someone chewing cereal. Kubo goes on through the prerecorded content of annoying bodily noises and various awkward groans.]

I'm cancelling today's story.

[ The voice on the other end may sound familiar, but it lacks an electronic tone. Instead, it's accompanied by chattering teeth and... a hint of fear? Excitement? Utter confusion? ]

If no one is too occupied, I could require some help... The temperature of my habitat needs to be raised, or someone could remove me from it for the time being.

... The latter is probably best...

[ Zenyatta thinks a shirtless, rag-wearing human is something that cannot survive that long face down in the snowy mountains of Nepal. ]

After that, I will be fine on my own--Oh! I think I can pull myself to the exit... Oh my. I forgot about the stairs...

[He's using video for the first time in a long time, and despite obviously doing it to show off his own problem, he chose probably the worst time to willingly show himself on the network. Through the omnicom, the changes he's been through might appear subtle at first glance. The first thing to catch attention would likely be the new cat ears, pinned back against his head, or the blond tail swishing furiously behind him.]

[The less noticeable issue is his new size. He's about the size of a house cat now. He doesn't say anything. Just glares. And if you listen carefully you might pick up the quiet sound of a whining growl.]

[ This one comes in a couple hours after the festivities begin. Just long enough for someone to brief a newbie, perhaps. Grif has been curiously absent the whole time, one might notice.

The soldier in maroon armor is a stranger to all but a few Legionnaires. His body language is pure indignation. ]

I want to go on record saying this is completely unfair!

So, uh. This is. New. [ Having woken up like this probably should've weirded Taylor out more than it has but he is, if nothing else, pretty damn adaptable. Also Emu's tucked up next to his (her? Her) shoulder as she squints at the camera. Same lingering scars, same brilliant ring of blue in her bionic eye, same Texan drawl-

But a gentler slope to the angle of her jaw and well. The hair's longer, how that happened she doesn't know but it's happened and it's weird. ] Anybody got a bead on where to get good sports bras? I was going to do some parkour but I've got fuck and all at my place.

Uh. My powers aren't working anymore.

[Tadashi isn't wearing his suppressor gauntlet, but he is wearing a worried expression.]

I'm not sure if they're gone completely or if I've somehow gotten other powers. Should I hit Medical to check or just sit tight until whatever magical weirdness is going on gets fixed?

You know, I don't usually get to say this, but...

[ He unwraps a burger, and takes a bite. Surrounding him are more burgers. Literally, his entire room is covered in fast food burgers. ]

I'm totally okay with this.
