GAME OF THRONE [mod event]
[When Dipper comes on screen he's in the supernatural research room that's attached to the Labs, where various Legionnaires have holed up over time to study the Book of Magic. Ray and Valeria are in there with him, working on the book behind them.]
This is so exciting! Ohmygosh.
Okay, so for anyone that's new, a while ago we had to get the spear of Destiny - like that spear of Destiny, that poked Yahweh-know-who? - to re-imprison the Spectre. Because we were the ones that let him out in the first place to stop this giant planet-eating guy with a stupid hat called Galactus.
Anyway, that's all taken care of, the Spectre's back in his box, but when we went to find the spear we met this guy guarding it that called himself The Wizard - like the Wizard, like he was the most important one or something? - and alongside telling us where the spear was, he gave us this magic book. He promised that if we could unlock its knowledge we might be able to find something to use against Chronoblivion.
We did a lot of research and found out it was legit but it's all wrapped up in codes and spells and riddles. We managed to unlock it enough that Ray was able to use its power to banish Eclipso to the room with a moose dimension, a dimension that's just...a room with a moose. (I don't get it, either). In that fight on Apokolips.
[Dipper rolls his hands around each other to show he's trying to fast forward.]
Anyway, a bunch of us have been working on it for a while and it turns out Gohan decoded some important encryptions before he got zapped home and he never got to tell the rest of us! I was going through his old notes to see if we missed anything and we were able to use it to figure out how to unlock the last spells guarding it. We're unlocking the last of it right now!
Brainiac got help from Sorcerer's World to use those magic artifacts we got from that marriage planet and combined it with technology to shield the research room, so nobody has to worry about any eff --
[Something crackles behind him, where Valeria and Ray are working. Some of Ray's equipment starts making alarming ticking noises. Ray says, "Definitely a sharp uptick in PKE valences...we may want to duck."]
[Dipper turns, yelps, and ducks just in time to avoid magical energy that zaps through the room like lightning. A more subtle wave of magical energy sweeps past after the initial zaps, spreading out all through Legion World. Val, Ray, and Dipper are just fine but frogs start appearing and raining from the ceiling in their research room, and the book floats off the table, completely wrapped up in ethereal glowing golden chains. Other Legionnaires throughout Legion World might also find strange magical effects spreading out all over.]
Uhhh.

If you insist...
[ When Wash finds Zenyatta, he'll be doing his best impression of someone in a classic Halloween ghost costume. Minus the eye holes. Plus the fact that he has given up on finding a blanket and instead has wrapped one of the Shambali's colorful banners around him, covering his body from head to toe.
Eight of his orbs are placed in a circle around him, completely inert. He's holding the ninth in his hands under the blanket. Zen's trying his best to enter a meditative state; it's not so easy when one is shivering. ]
no subject
[Zenyatta...doesn't look great. The tapestry was made to be decorative, not warm, and the no-longer-Omnic is visibly shivering under it. Good thing he's brought a blanket.]
[(How many times has he headed into someone's hab with a purpose and a blanket? He's lost count.)]
[He unfolds the blanket and wraps it tightly around Zenyatta. If Zenyatta doesn't start moving under his own power, then Wash is just going to fly them both out and worry about consequences later.]
Come on. Let's get out of here.
no subject
Greetings, Washington. You arrived quickly.
[ Zenyatta offers a smile. It is so strange for him to realize that he can smile in a way that is not just voice intonation. The brightness of that smile is marred by how cold Zenyatta is. He looks at the orbs. ]
I suppose I should leave those there for now. I cannot channel my energy correctly to have them follow me.
[ But he keeps a hold of the one in his hands as he hovers awkwardly with the banner and blanket bundled around him. ]
no subject
Probably a good plan. Let's get going before it gets any colder.
[Not that it would, as the hab deck tends to have pretty tightly controlled weather, but still. He flies back out the way he came and pauses, waiting for Zenyatta to keep pace.]
no subject
Where are we going besides out?
[ His other question would have been if there was any news on reversing the chaos caused by the book, but as he's still a human, Zenyatta thinks there has not been any. ]
no subject
[It's not a long flight - out of the hab deck, down a series of halls, and back to the lounge full of cats, all very excited now that there's once again people in the room.]
Hope you like cats.
[Hope he's not allergic.]
Have a seat. I'll be right back, and the cats will keep you warm in the meantime.
no subject
As does the chorus of meows that greet them at the door. ]
What a delightful room.
[ Zenyatta takes a seat but keeps the blanket and banner wrapped around him. A few curious cats make their way to the newcomer, but he otherwise doesn't move. When Wash comes back, Zenyatta's lap is going to be full of cats. He may even have one on his shoulders and another that thinks Zenyatta's head needs a fuzzy hat. ]
I think they like me.
no subject
Yeah, they're pretty affectionate.
[He puts the clothing down on the couch next to Zenyatta.]
T-shirt, sweatshirt, sweatpants. Put them on over what you have now and then wrap the blanket back around you. It'll help.
no subject
[ Zenyatta plans to wear the additional clothes at once, but the cats meow loudly in protest when he tries to unwrap himself from the blanket and banner. ]
... Could I have your assistance once more?
[ They don't want to move. He's going to disturb the cats. What should he do? ]
no subject
Sure. Move fast once they're off you - otherwise, they'll get right back on.
[It doesn't take him long to remove the half-dozen cats on Zenyatta; it turns out herding cats is a lot easier than herding Reds and Blues, and Wash has been doing the latter for years.]
no subject
The cats follow as soon as they get a chance to leave Wash's hold. ]
I really must thank you for your help. I fare better in the cold, but that was more than what internal heating and cooling systems could handle.
[ The first thing he's going to do once everything settles down is to request that the season in his habitat be changed to spring. A love for snowball fights does not outweigh people freezing to near death. ]
no subject
Pretty sure that's just your circulatory system now, and it's fine. You'd do the same for anyone.
[He'd certainly made a habit of keeping an eye on Wash, that was for sure. Wash still can't decide if he appreciates that or not.]
And after you warm up, you get to help me out.
[He picks up a cat off the sofa, takes a seat, and places the cat on his lap. The cat, contrary to the last, makes its way back to the sofa and curls up next to him, rolling on its back and splaying its paws out in all directions.]
[Of course, it's a half second until his lap is full of three purring cats, all wanting to take up precious warm real estate, because cats.]
I've noticed that if you pet the cats enough, they disappear. I'm pretty sure it just sends them back to where they came from, and as much as I like it, we really don't need a room full of cats here.
[Zenyatta, your new mission is to pet all the cats.]
no subject
If only I was still in my omnic form, I could pet more cats at once. They will have to be patient for their turn.
[ Honestly, Zenyatta thinks that maybe it's best for him to only have two hands right now. Do the cats really need to go? Couldn't some stay? They are so cute and soft. Zenyatta can feel every strand of fur on his fingertips.
He gives a tawny cat a scratch on the top of its head and his attention. ]
Where did you come, little one? Did you arrive with friends or alone?
no subject
Wait, how does that work? Were you planning on petting them with your orbs?
[How do you function]
Hopefully with friends. [Wait.] Honestly, it's weird that they're all getting along this well. Cats usually don't handle meeting other cats for the first time well.
no subject
I can summon three other pairs of arms, so I would have eight hands to pet cats.
[ He says this so simply like it is nothing special or of concern. Zenyatta simply continues to pet a cat and mutter adorable words at it. ]
no subject
Part of me wants to know if you can still do that as a human, and part of me really doesn't.
no subject
If I could, then I would be able to hover with my own power. I should train and find out if I stay in this form for long. I am still a part of the Iris, after all.
no subject
Good point. I'm pretty sure this is temporary, though - once we get the Book of Magic figured out, everything should go back to normal.
[He has zero assurances on this. That's not stopping him from banking on it.]
...so what is the Iris?
no subject
The Iris the warmth of talking with a treasured friend. It is the tree that has roots firmly in the ground while reaching up to touch the sky. It is both everywhere and nowhere, a place and a being and an energy.
[ Good luck getting a more specific, literal answer out of Zenyatta about the Iris. ]
no subject
[He's focusing a bit more on that than he is on Zenyatta's answer, so by the time he really starts listening and processing, he's lost. Directing his full attention to it doesn't really help, so he goes for the answer that makes the most sense.]
So...it's a religious thing?
no subject
Yes, you could call it that. The Shambali do live in a monastery, after all.
[ Even if he doesn't live there anymore back home. In Legion World, he does... even if it almost froze him into a Popsyatta. ]
no subject
I'm guessing it's up in the mountains somewhere.
[He's not judging Zenyatta or his hab so much as he is judging Zenyatta's unwillingness to remove himself from his hab when the conditions become...inshopitable, for lack of a better word.]
[...okay, maybe he is judging Zenyatta a little. As far as Wash can tell, Zenyatta has zero survival instinct, and that's kind of a problem.]
no subject
It is. If you know of Nepal or the Himalayas on a planet called Earth, they are located there. The monastery was abandoned when the Shambali found it, and the Iris is strong there. The view is also beautiful.
no subject
[He's pretty certain there's an order of monks who live there, though, at least in Wash's dimension. If Zenyatta's order found a monastery abandoned after a robot apocalypse...]
[Yeah, he doesn't feel like following that thought to its logical conclusion. It's a day for petting cats, not worrying about potential genocides in other dimensions.]
I'm guessing you don't get many human visitors, if that's what the weather is like on a normal day.
no subject
[ Zenyatta's voice falls quiet and soft as he drops his gaze to a cat draped across his thigh, not quite in his lap. He scratches between its ears. ]
While the location provides the opportunity to hone one's attention and focus, it can also be very... isolating.
