I've got good news: Reinhardt and Brainy are both stable and safely tucked into healing pods. They're both expected to make full recoveries.

I figured I'd get that out there up front. The rest is going to get long, so it's split into parts.

Someone drops a grenade in front of us. You can't use your powers for whatever reason, such as Washington negating everyone's powers. Are you capable of picking it up and throwing it away, can you not do it at all, or are we all dead because you haven't bothered to figure this out yet?

And you'd be wrong. If Dave weren't reliable, we wouldn't have caught the Joker and we wouldn't have been able to rescue the veteran Legionnaires nearly as easily. He's competent, he's reliable, he's had my back in combat more than once and he's never let me down. Having the weirdest fucking conversations on Legion World doesn't negate any of that.

You should be walking away with the knowledge that this isn't your world, it doesn't play by your rules, and the team is stronger for that. You took the oath to be a Legionnaire, and that means playing by Legion's rules and working with fellow Legionnaires. You've hit the nail on the head. This place isn't the same as my home. It's also not the same as his. His rules might no longer apply. They very likely don't, given that no one here seems limited to a specific type of weapon. If it turns out that he can pick up something that's not a sword, like a taser or a tranq gun, then that's important information to have. Two people on this team have the ability to strip away powers, so how many times are we going to be going against people with the same abilities on missions?

But instead of giving a straight answer, he plays games. He might have proven himself to you, but I don't know him and I've seen nothing that tells me that I can trust him with my life.

So his track record and my word as a military veteran and a competent human being mean nothing to you. Good to know.

Look at it from my position. He's done little but be diverting and objectionable during this conversation, refusing to answer a simple question and playing up the obnoxious juve angle. Someone else I barely know comes up and says that, no, he's totally reliable and I can trust him with my life, despite his flippant attitude.

You'll forgive me if I have a hard time discarding my own experience and joining the choir of singing his praises in this case.

i can only equip gifs but i can name them whatever the hell i want for the purposes of getting them to work with my shifty fetch modus
id demonstrate but this universe doesnt use the same abstractions so my sylladex and everything in it are like lost in the void or something
