[The camera bobs and judders as someone sets it up, catching flashes of a scruffy, unkempt face and pale arms and the sky for a moment.]

Okay so I've been thinking, we've got super powers here, right?

[The picture steadies pointing out at what appears to be a beach, but is more likely to just be a simulated section of beach on the Legion World. It falls over, and Grif swears as he rights it again.]

...Anyway. By super powers I mean amazing things you couldn't do before, because otherwise you're just from some world where you can do cool stuff most of us can't and that's not superpowers, that's just life being unfair to the rest of us.

[Satisfied that the comm is stable, Grif steps out in front of it as he continues.]

So, I want to see what you guys can do. And because I am all about being fair, I'm going first.

[He swings his arms a little, takes a couple breaths, then bolts to the waterline. He's nothing but a speed blur followed by a trail of thrashed sand. He stops at the surf and charges back just as quickly. At the end he's doubled over in front of the camera, hands on his knees, huffing and wheezing.]

Whoo!

[He laughs as he catches his breath, which makes it somewhat harder, and is grinning despite how much that tiny display of super speed seems to have taken out of him. In good shape, this guy is not.]

It's like... it feels like everything's normal speed to me when I do it and everything's all slowed down. It's crazy shit, man.

[Grif plunks down heavily in the sand and picks up the comm again, still visibly panting.]

So. That's me. Show me what you got.

Because I'm a super hero now, that makes me an expert on this and as an expert I can tell you that mystery powers are still way better than being some poor normal asshole with nothing.

[Congratulations, you're the first superhero this medieval loser has ever seen in action. It certainly makes the display seem more impressive, at least.

With a smile tinged with something like concern, it's hard to tell whether Saralegui is being serious or just teasing.]

Does it really tire you out that much, though?

I think that's normal. I don't know, can anybody else do that? I think it's just part of the power.

[And not that he would cheerfully exist on a diet of oreos and corndogs.]

[Tadashi runs his fingers of the hand not holding his comm through his hair.]

I'd prefer not to demonstrate what I can do right now, since...I can do it, but I can't really control it, and that's not really good when your power is 'fire generation'.

[He smiles tentatively.]

Super-speed though, that looks really cool. I know someone back home who would love that.

Only 'fire generation'? You'd think there'd be some way to control it.

But hey, we're in the future, if it doesn't work out naturally we'll have to use tech to get around it.

[And instantly thinking about Shenron's flamethrower dragon arm. Not sure if that'll really work but it's one thing to think about.]

You could do it! Just go outside and try not to light yourself on fire.

[...Not that he'd be too put out about it. People accidentally setting themselves on fire is hilarious.]

It is pretty great. I'm already thinking up all kinds of stuff I can use it for.

[The Legion would probably frown upon a lot of them.]

[No, this won't do.]

[It takes Zuko a little while to respond. He has to ask one of the Legion World staff members for help pushing the right buttons on the magic box. That means that Tadashi gets a slightly zoomed in and off center image of a frowning, scarred teenage boy answering him.]

If you want to learn how to control your power, meet me tomorrow at dawn for training.

You lucky bastards. I actually lost powers.

[And these people gained some out of nowhere. The universe is having a laugh at his expense, he knows it.]

That's the first I've heard anything like that. What could you do before?

[And was it awesome? Grif hopes it was awesome.]

I mean, if you're used to controlling energies that don't work the same way here, then I could picture a scenario where you're not able to focus things the same way, and you'd lose some functionality that way, but you're definitely at lower power and it's not just that it isn't flowing the same way here?

Hey, pretty good. Might wanna work on your stamina before you run out for a snack and get tired halfway there, though.

[Because obviously obtaining food is the best way to use this ability. Also, don't mind the talking skeleton grinning over the video feed.]

I have plenty of stamina! It's just hard w-

[Then he notices that Sans is a skeleton.]

Whoah, whoah.

[His grin is a little nervous.]

So like... guess your super power is being alive, huh?

[Zuko isn't really a show off by nature. Once upon a time, when he was a child, he sometimes showed off his Firebending to try to outdo his sister or gain his father's approval, but enough failures in that particular area, enough rebukes by his father telling him how terrible he was, made him stop trying -- at least where his Firebending was concerned. After he'd given up on that, he tried other ways to get his father's attention, like being in his war room.]

[That hadn't exactly worked out well, either.]

[He wants respect here, though. Just like he has from his friends back home. So he quietly messes with his -- what was it called? Omnicom? And after the picture cuts in and out and turns upside down and right side up again, after he finally figures out how to get it to record properly, he props it against a tree.]

[At his request, they designed his part of the Habitat level to look like the Palace Gardens and there's open space here, enough to firebend, just like there was when he and his sister had played when they were younger.]

[He's silent as he walks away and takes a firebending stance. Then he goes through several firebending forms. Some are simple and ferocious. Others are more acrobatic and visually impressive. the flames that erupt as he does them are huge, bigger than what Zuko's used to but he still manages to keep them in control.]

[When he finally stops, he walks back over and picks up the device, clearly prepared to tell them that he has a brand new--]

Nothing's changed. The only difference is I can get a stronger flame with less effort.

[He's been wondering how it will feel to firebend when Sozin's comet comes and he thinks maybe that this is the closest thing.]

[Grif claps. He can see why Zuko volunteered to help that other guy with the fire powers.]

So that's normal? Can everybody do that where you come from, or just you?

[That was certainly a more impressive show than the bit of speedy running. Saralegui watches with a delighted, intense focus, and when Zuko finally finishes he responds with just some polite, fairly enthusiastic applause.]

But... I did have superpowers at home. Just... slightly different ones than I have here.

[Someone watching closely might spy someone coming up from behind Grif's right side. Maybe. But the end result is a pale hand appearing on screen just behind his right shoulder and poking his exposed skin.]

Hey. Do your running thing again.

[The off-screen voice sounds feminine, with a "generic American" accent (for those familiar with such things). Grif is the only one who can actually see her at the moment -- her blond hair is pulled into a messy ponytail, and her black long-sleeved shirt and pants are decidedly not beachwear.]

[Grif's defensive reflexes spring into action. By which I mean he screams and falls over onto his side.]

[The person who snows up on screen, a gangly boy with wild brown hair, appears to still be fiddling with the Omnicomm.]

[Also, there's a giant black reptile right behind him.]

...I think I've got this thing working.

I can manipulate metal, apparently. Make it float in mid-air, change shape, and other things like that. Just not sure I have the control to show off.

[Grif's about to comment on how that's probably useful, like stopping bullets and things, when he notices Toothless.]
