'Everyone that isn't me is a waste of my time' sounds a lot like prejudice. You don't know everyone, and forcing them to prove themselves before you want to bother ... most people won't want to put forth the effort if you come across as abrasive.

Don't play shell games with definitions. If you want to use the one with negative connotations, you don't get to conflate it with the one that just means preconceptions.

I'll use preconceptions if you like. I try to avoid them even if they're "positive". They're usually wrong, and someone always ends up disappointed - or hurt.
