Dot Dot Dot [Video]
[ It’s been a very long week for Miku. The room behind her is spartan and bare, since she hasn’t found it in her to ask about decoration yet, trying to absorb her new status. She is very pale, with dark brown hair bundled behind her head in a massive bun, a face framed by thick fringe, and from the way her brown eyes keep looking away from the camera, quite nervous.
Introductions, after all, are always so scary.
Her hands are clasped together, thumb rubbing over the joint of her pinky over and over as she tries to think of what to say. The Legion ring catches the light, and she bites her lip for a moment before taking a breath and setting her narrow shoulders straight.]
Good evening, my name is Miku Hinasaki... but I’m told I should call myself "Recall" now. My abilities are... retrocognition, mostly. I look forward to working with you.
[She bows politely and straightens up again, then smiles a little.]
I’m... not sure what else I should say? [The feed turns off, after a little fumbling on Miku's part.]

[Hey, a chance to show everyone that he knows pop culture too doesn't pop up often. Just let him be cool, guys.]
I'm Jason. Amp, if you like.
Why don't you tell us a bit about yourself or where you come from? It might help you feel more comfortable and you might find someone who has stuff in common with you.
[AUDIO]
[You've lost her, Jason.]
I'm from Japan, ah... specifically Tokyo. I was, am?, a photographer's assistant.
[AUDIO]
[Jason just wants to be hip but the universe won't let him.]
That's pretty cool. I'm pretty sure we've got some Japanese people here. Tadashi... Uh. Azula, maybe? Zuko's gone, so's the flower girl... There's that Kubo kid. [Huh. Was there anyone else? He couldn't remember.] I don't know about any photographers, though. Sorry.
[AUDIO]
[The thought that other Japanese people are around is appealing, and she breathes a little sigh of relief. If she's not the only one, and they're OK here, then surely she will be OK here, too.]
It is perfectly fine if you don't - I... I'm only an assistant.
What did you do where you're from?
[AUDIO]
Everyone's got to start somewhere, right?
[If his winning smile isn't audible, it should be.]
Me? I was a high school student. I mainly hung out with my friends and tried not to fail history. [He laughs at that. He's still going to school here, one of the few bothering to continue their education. It's hard work, but it passes the time.] I also held martial arts classes at the juice bar. Anyone who does martial arts around here is way better than me, though.
[AUDIO]
I've never done any of that.
[Though something tells her that she won't get much of a chance to opt out in the future]

[Ana herself was seated cozily in her quarters, sipping a steaming cup of tea as she replied. After being stuck on a long mission on her own for so long, it was the simple things like this she missed the most.]
If you need help with anything, let me know. I know it can be overwhelming getting started here, so don't hesitate to ask, dear.
I would appreciate it... they explained, of course, but it's so much to take in.

I can understand that feeling. This place is a lot more science fiction than a lot of us here are used to.
So, is there anything in particular you'd like to know?

[Somehow, someone else recognizing how strange this all is puts her at ease. She smiles.]
It would be nice to find out where to decorate my room. If I am going to be here for a little while, it would be nice to make it look less severe.

I found a lovely place in Cairo that sells rugs, for example. There are lots of little gems like that all over.

[Her room is going to be the pinkest.]
[She looks down as she thinks.] I can't think of anything else to ask, but if something does come up, may I ask you?

[Tadashi smiles, looking as reassuring as he can.]
I'm Tadashi Hamada, or 'Sunfire'. Retrocognition seems like it could be a pretty cool power.
I would be grateful. They explained, but it's a lot for me to take in.
[She shrugs, and looks down.] Retrocognition might be more trouble than it's worth, though I don't intend to use it for poor purposes. Just to help.
Re: [video]
It's definitely a lot to take in. I don't know about you, but nobody has super powers where I'm from, so I was just completely in over my head when I woke up here. Then add all the technological advances from what I'm used to and the aliens and... [He shakes his head.] Not going to lie, I spent a lot of time staring at the ceiling trying to process everything. If it helps, I promise that you do get used to it.
I'll grant that it's not particularly straight-forward, but I bet you'll find a lot of ways to help with it. [He smiles wryly.] I mean, right off, you're going to make solving "what happened here" situations a lot easier.
Re: [video]
Not where I'm from, either. [This is not entirely a lie; after all, it's not like people are flying around where she's from, unless they've already left the mortal coil.] I mean, I wasn't even fond of my microwave, and now... [She makes a vague movement, indicating the room.] Well, I'll adapt. Especially if there are kind people like you and Ms Amari about.
[She flushes pink slightly.] I suppose you have a point there. I'll do my best.
Re: [video]
Adapting is doable, though. Worst case scenario, there are a lot of neat outdoorsy places on the Hab Deck, and the Threshold Gates can take you nearly anywhere you want to go.
[He smiles again.] Doing your best is all anyone here would ask. You'll do great. I mean, you've already looked at this situation and decided to help, that's pretty awesome.
