[ Grif is in high spirits today. He seems to actually be in one of the training rooms for once, which makes that a lot weirder. ]

Hey guys. There are a bunch of weirdos running around and it's been a while since we talked about powers. So guess what we're going to do today?

[ 'We' because he expects participation, dammit! ]

And because I'm feeling generous, I'll start. Guess who learned a new thing?

[ He points at himself with both thumbs and backs up, revealing a line of targets. He steps back, lines up his shoulder with them, and winds up his arm like a softball pitcher. He doesn't stop. Grif's arm blurs as he speeds up, and finally the force of the moving air is enough to tip over the nearest target. But only the nearest one. He stops, gestures at it with definite pride, and continues. ]

So let's talk about your powers because we already know mine are pretty awesome.

[ Of course they are, Grif. ]

Has anybody else figured out anything cool? And if you're new: I'm Grif and this is basically my job around here. Tell me what you got, because I'm still way disappointed about the lack of eye lasers we got going on on this team. I could read profiles, but who has time for that crap?

If I know you already... I don't know. Injury status report? What did you have for lunch? I'm just bored, okay?

Like a real, live dragon! Remember how I spent the summer before last reading the entire [25-book. It was 25 books.] 'Dragon-wranglers of the Mountains of Earth, Ice, and Flames' series instead of going outside?

He has one! For real!

And he owes me a dragon-ride, actually.

As soon as Toothless's wing is fully healed. We crashed during the whole thing with the Fatal Five and he the ground pretty hard with it.

Ooow. Is he going to be okay?

He's going to be fine. It's mostly healed already, they just want him to take it easy for a few days.

[ Grif butts in, sensing the possibility of vital intel. ]

Did they put him in one of those cone collars?

No they didn't. There was talk of it, but as soon as he saw the pictures he decided he'd be good and not mess with bandages.

I know!! I'm gonna need a whole lot of yarn, Dipper!

[ It definitely no longer matters that Dipper now knows her plans to wreck their kitchen again. ]

HI TOOTHLESS! Why is he Toothless? Does he breathe fire? Does he like being petted and wearing sweaters?

To answer your questions, retractable teeth, he breathes explosive balls of plasma, yes, and I've never tested it, but I doubt it.

Okay, I'm going to make him one, but maybe you could just talk it up a little. Mention how cold it is, and how comfy sweaters are...

[Toothless gives these plans the flattest look.]

...I don't think he's gonna go for it. It'd be hard to get it around the wings, anyways. Maybe a blanket instead?

Ohhhhhhh Toothless! Don't you care about fashion? I could make you a star! Of the fashion world.

[ She sighs. Maybe after she meets him in person, she can change his mind. ]
