[The video comes on and Vance is...red. Cheeks, face, neck. Even his ears are red. It takes a moment for him to clear his throat.]
Uh...
Right. I apparently needed a reminder to never Google myself. Or, you know, whatever the equivalent is in the future. But is this usually a thing these days?
I mean, maybe I should be more used to this from the Avengers. I know they did this sort of thing back home sometimes, but...yeah.
I also never want to see the fan art. I love you, Rich, but...no.

Re: SORRY NOT SORRY
In the interests of you NOT GOOGLING THAT, I'll answer this question.
Seriously, don't google that.
[He takes a deep breath and lets it out. He can do this, he has a fourteen-year-old brother at home who will eventually discover that the internet is good for more than just engineering projects.
Apparently, some people like to theorize and write stories about the romantic relationships of people on this team. Sometimes up to and including their sex lives. And sometimes those stories involve, ah, unconventional practices that some people enjoy.
[There, that was relatively painless, right?]

In the past, there are times I've heard certain words, and I'll be honest with you: I've made some mistakes. I have some regrets. You learn to carry on and try to live the rest of your life afterward, but you still always carry some of the pain with you, you know?

[That is Nick's way of saying Tadashi is a saint for throwing himself on that particular grenade.]

I keep protein bars in my lab back home, which has prevented hanger-fueled rampages by engineering and chemistry students, does that count?

I say this as someone who's seen people stampede a breakroom and nearly fight to the death over a box of donuts. Our usual donut shop near the precinct had some surprise renovations they had to do, so everyone went without donuts that morning. By lunchtime, when someone finally went to another donut shop to get some, it was anarchy.
And I mean it was a literal stampede. Some of my coworkers are megafauna.

Fortunately, we haven't had to deal with rogue megafauna in the labs yet. Fred's keeping his fingers crossed, but the school is more focused on the technological end of things than the biological. I'm probably as close as we've got, and I'm inventing a nursebot.

I really recommend not reading those posts at all. Or if you do read them, do it with a sense of humor and remind yourself it's really more about them than it is about you.

[ Grif shrugs. ]
Some things stick with you.

[Tadashi smiles sadly.]
Eventually, you've just gotta trust that they know when to call for help, and that they've got good back-up when they do.

[ He doesn't look into the camera, he's thinking about things. ]
Or just... hope you did the best you could, right?

Still working on that one myself, but it sounds about right.

...Well, maybe second, after my aunt.
