WHERE ANGELS FEAR TO TREAD - Mod Plot [Network post | 3 ] [video]

[The fight between the Spectre and Galactus is the kind of fight that can devastate worlds. That's why the Legion successfully managing to get the Surfer to lead Galactus away from Braal was so important.]

[But the end result is something...unexpected. The exposure of a particular cosmic being watching everything.]

[After he's caught, what he has to say changes everything.]

[The broadcast catches it all. Though the news drones were downed, the Legion's observation drones are working, and that means it puts all the video on the network in real-time.]

[So they see it: the reason they've been brought here. The being responsible. The change in what they're fighting for. They see it all.]

Something with that much mass attaching itself to our universe would likely affect something. Our technology is advanced enough that we've noticed a shift in the quantifiable mass of reality before. It's regularly assayed by various survey scans.

We just have to look for something anomalous.

As for the hero dial, we are familiar with it. It's an ancient Earth artifact of unknown, possibly-magical origin. A young ward of our team, Lori Morning, used to have it in her possession. Its old functionality was such that it granted an individual a set of metapowers for a short amount of time, before the individual reverted to their natural form. The powers would be different every time it was used.

It burned out when I used it to save Lori and myself during the rift disaster that displaced myself and several others in the Second Galaxy for the first time. After my tampering caused it to burn out, it was lost during the chaos of the disaster and we never found it again.

It seems the Time Trapper has perhaps accessed deeper functions than we thought it capable of, and is using them in tandem with his chronal powers to give you displacees your powers -- or alter your existing powers.

So did we get our powers at random, or did Time Trapper pick them for us?

[All universes everywhere being destroyed is...a little too big to wrap his head around right now. So Tadashi is focusing on something a little smaller.]

His explanation was somewhat unclear. I don't know if he made specific, purposeful selections on a whim or if he chose those powers because you displacees had them in alternate timelines.

I'd lean closer to him making the selections based on his own nebulous reasons, however. That's what he seemed to imply.

[Tadashi goes...oddly still as he listens to Brainy talk. A muscle ticks in his jaw.]

Oh. Okay. Thanks.

[Tadashi opens and closes his mouth a couple times before he finally figures out how to phrase his next question.]

Do his nebulous reasons include being a complete freaking asshole?

There's a high probability, yes.

Great.

I vote we find someone to punch them in the neck. As part of this whole saving-all-of-everything plan.

[Tadashi is...kind of getting pissed about this, actually.]

I'm gonna...go tinker in the lab or something. Thanks.
