WHERE ANGELS FEAR TO TREAD - Mod Plot [Network post | 3 ] [video]
[The fight between the Spectre and Galactus is the kind of fight that can devastate worlds. That's why the Legion successfully managing to get the Surfer to lead Galactus away from Braal was so important.]
[But the end result is something...unexpected. The exposure of a particular cosmic being watching everything.]
[After he's caught, what he has to say changes everything.]
[The broadcast catches it all. Though the news drones were downed, the Legion's observation drones are working, and that means it puts all the video on the network in real-time.]
[So they see it: the reason they've been brought here. The being responsible. The change in what they're fighting for. They see it all.]

I think I speak for everyone when I say hooooly fuck.

Does anything that bad even exist?

The Spectre was only reasonable because we have an actual way to shove him back inside his box. Eventually.
But the more powerful these beings get, the less likely that'll be true. We need to find some other way of stopping It.

But first, he's just going to shut off the video feed and sleep for a week. Back home, he'd probably give a speech about how they've faced bad odds before, how this is just upping the scales, how they can do it if they could all just pull together, but... He just had to fight in a church full of dead people. And that guy ate planets. And now there's a guy who eats universes. And he's not with his friends, he's with a bunch of people he still barely knows. Worse, it's probably better that his friends aren't there.
He's gonna need some time to himself before he's up to any decent conversation after all this.]

I think I can safely speak for everyone when I say that this new...wrinkle, is something we should tackle more in depth in the morning. After Medbay visits, sleep, psych debriefs, and a chance to try to verify that what the Time Trapper said is even true.

[Tadashi scrubs his hand over his face, but it doesn't clear the thoughtful scrunching of his face.]
Do you know anything about the Hero Dial that Time Trapper said he -- she? them? -- used on us?

We just have to look for something anomalous.
As for the hero dial, we are familiar with it. It's an ancient Earth artifact of unknown, possibly-magical origin. A young ward of our team, Lori Morning, used to have it in her possession. Its old functionality was such that it granted an individual a set of metapowers for a short amount of time, before the individual reverted to their natural form. The powers would be different every time it was used.
It burned out when I used it to save Lori and myself during the rift disaster that displaced myself and several others in the Second Galaxy for the first time. After my tampering caused it to burn out, it was lost during the chaos of the disaster and we never found it again.
It seems the Time Trapper has perhaps accessed deeper functions than we thought it capable of, and is using them in tandem with his chronal powers to give you displacees your powers -- or alter your existing powers.

[All universes everywhere being destroyed is...a little too big to wrap his head around right now. So Tadashi is focusing on something a little smaller.]

The Time Trapper has been our enemy in the past, but when it comes to threats to time and space, it cares about its continued existence just as much as any other sentient.
You see, the Time Trapper thrives on the entropic decay of the universe. Entropy would be circumvented by all of existence suddenly ceasing.
It is highly likely that he was telling the truth. I still want to independently verify, but may indeed be facing the threat of a multiversal apocalypse.

[Finally, he figures it out.]
For anyone who can't sleep quite yet because apparently the universe ending is a thing now, I'll be in the kitchen, making something or somethings that are heavily fried, and appropriating a gallon or two of soy ice cream.
If anyone wants to join me in eating our feelings, the more the merrier.

I think I'm even going to combine the "fried" and the "ice cream" into one thing. It seems like that kind of night.

Batter, around scoops of ice cream, fry that. I've never tried it before, but that'd be the best of both worlds, right?

So I guess we're even more screwed, but it's going to take like... at least a couple of months? Maybe?
I'm going to call it an improvement.

Bring out the most absolutely ridiculous outcome you can probably think of. Sure, why not.

My Great Uncle Ford would probably have some ideas on how to stop this.

[ A pause. ]
... Or just try and punch it. I don't know, dad would probably still find a way to beat it somehow.
