[Widowmaker had finally extracted herself from all the rigamarole that surrounded a new arrival to make her way to the Mess Hall. With a cup of something almost as blue as the color of her skin sitting on the table before her along with her rifle in its shorter Assault mode, she set the omnicom up so she didn't have to hold it in her hand.
What she did have in her hand was the ring they'd given her upon taking that oath. As if an oath was binding...]
I can certainly understand the need for a vetting process, but it appears to be rather pointless to subject would-be saviors to such repetitive examinations when the results do not change. What is the phrase...? [She idly rolled the ring between her fingers as she thought a moment.] Ah, yes. 'Beggars can't be choosers.'
Perhaps I am simply... special. [There was a slight upturn of her lips at that last word.]

What can I say? I had to get settled, too. Plus it wasn't like it was easy.
You want me to catch up to you?
Mess Hall's not far, I can be there in a few minutes.
no subject
And I would like that.
no subject
Be there soon.
[And true to her own word, She is. Bright blue circuitry patterns (combined with hair that's been combed over the cybernetics across her skull) a sufficient mask for the person Sombra used to be when she slips in to sit beside Widowmaker: legs tucked up beneath her, elbows set against the table. Or at least it would be a sufficient mask if not for the fact that she's dealing a partner that's seen her face both in tactical execution and close quarters, time and time again.
In that sense it's practically a halloween costume. Amélie would see right through it.
Which is why she's already set her omnicom out on the table just a few inches between them, screen lit up with the letters 'Shhh.']
Azúcar. [Her hand is extended cordially in greeting; she clearly expects Widowmaker to play along.]

Anyone other than Amélie would have allowed recognition to cross her face, but her expression remained mildly curious in response to someone joining her. Those pale eyes of hers flickered ever so slightly to the omnicom Sombra set down, understanding firing through her thoughts. Whatever game was being played she wouldn't disrupt.
Though that name netted a slight twitch of her lip before it smoothed into a friendly smile. She could still remember what the motions were.]
Widowmaker. [She went to take the hand, but paused a moment.] Do not be alarmed; I am cold to the touch. [And then she shook Sombra's hand.]

[Her grin widens only by the slightest beat— the only sign it might be an intentional joke— before she's withdrawn again, gathering up her omnicom in the same, swift movement.]
So. [with introductions out of the way, Sombra's already rising to her feet, clearly eager to get the tour under way:] I figure the Observation Deck is a good place to start. Plenty of space, not too many people around— y la vista es agradable.
no subject
I have never seen Earth from afar, and less people would be nice. I tend to be of a solitary sort when left to my own devices. [She gestured for Sombra to lead on, taking a moment afterward to slip the Legion ring onto her left hand ring finger.]

Eventually Sombra finds an offset balcony with a stunning view of the stars: broad and brilliant and entirely breathtaking - even for someone so medically short on breath as Widowmaker. A few flashes of violet code, a few swift snaps of her fingers, and they're left alone in silence. Unmonitored.
—and oh, how her demeanor changes then.]
I always knew you'd find your way here, hermosa.
no subject
Her eyes did widen upon seeing the view from the Observation Deck. It was indeed a beautiful sight, providing more than enough time for Sombra to take care that they could speak plainly. Such a relief.
And the first thing Amélie did was laugh as she turned to face Sombra.]
Azúcar? Truly, that is the name you chose to use?

Makes it easier to blend in.
[Or stand out.]
no subject
At least one of us needs to blend in. There is too much Overwatch around for me to follow suit. Pity these people believe so much in mercy and non-lethal force. It itches.
no subject
Their definition of loyalty was always different, after all.]
Confía en mi, I've got it all under control. [Lifting a few glowing nails, sombra takes to idly picking dust out from beneath them. Feigning at distraction.] You just need to play by the rules until then.
no subject
[She gave an irritated sigh.] I made it quite clear in my evaluations that I am not driven by psychotic desires, despite what other, less enlightened believe. [And she wasn't; she simply really liked her job.]
I would like a regular means for you and I to converse plainly. You can make it happen, yes?
no subject
Did you know that?
[...so much for sticking to the subject.]
no subject
I assumed he was here and would make his presence known to me when he felt like it. He and I do not press each other. [They had each others backs when it counted. Amélie knew he wasn't the one she needed to worry about.]
Unless your next words are going to be about how you have already set up a communication web with him that you will be connecting me to, talk about him can wait. You are the one with her fingers in all the pots.
[And for some reason, Amélie glanced over toward the door then back to Sombra, hand reaching up to take her visor off.]
no subject
Coy as anything.] I was getting around to it...
[Still, she's not blind. Not when it comes to the network, linked to the implants housed in her skull and a conlict too easily followed in spite of her silence. Amélie caused a stir: one that seems to be ongoing. If she's shedding her own equipment, there must be a reason for it.]
no subject
[She handed the visor to Sombra.] I need you to hold onto this for a bit; if you need to make use of it to patch me into your network do so.
[And then she narrowed her eyes, holding Sombra's for the moment.] Do not make any other adjustments.
[It was delicate equipment that was perfectly calibrated! Which was exactly why she wasn't going to be wearing it when Tracer steamrolled in. It was only a matter of time before she was found and it was best Sombra was out of sight when the Brit caught up to her.]
no subject
Try to make her look like the troublemaker, will you?
[The more mistrust and frustration pinned on the former members of Overwatch, the better. At least so far as Talon is concerned.]
no subject
I already have it planned. The pain will be well worth it. [There's that wicked curl to her lips. She was going to enjoy making Tracer look like a loose cannon.]
no subject
They're short on time - she needs to leave.
A flicker of visible, fractured code. Violet light fading away into nothingness, Sombra disappearing where she stands.] I'll leave you to it.
[A beat, and then:] Cheers, love.
