[video] Introductions are a thing you do, right?
[A rather awkward and uncomfortable looking 15 year-old boy with extremely unkempt hair comes over the video feed. He's obviously not used to things like this.]
[Namely: Being social in any capacity with people outside his class.]
Uh. H-hello, my name is M-Midoriya Izuku, U.A. Superhero High School class 1-A. Not that, um, not that anyone probably knows what that is, alternate universes and all...
[He catches himself slouching as his words drift off to almost whisper-quiet, his bashful nature getting the better of him. He quickly sits back upright, and speaks louder.]
I've just joined the Legion, and so I'd like to introduce myself. Which I...just did. Right. My, uh, my hero name is Deku, which is also my nickname back home, so feel free to call me that...if you want to, of course...
[Normally, he wouldn't be nearly this flustered, but being told you're going to face an unspeakable evil of cosmic, universe eating proportions can do that to a person.]
A-Anyway! I just want to say, I might be young and inexperienced, but I look forward to working with you all!
[Please, someone tell this child to unclench. At this rate it seems like he might pass out from awkwardness if left to his own devices.]

I was, um. Trying to pump myself up.

Hey, don't worry. I get up around that time anyway. [Generally an hour later, but hey. The guy seemed nervous. Jason might rib him about it more if he didn't seem like one of those little mexican purse dogs.] I think everyone can understand being a little nervous in a new place.
I'm Jason. Amp when we're in costume, I guess. And, hey, don't worry about being inexperienced or anything. Most of us are teenagers, it's not like anyone our age has a ton of hero experience, right? [Well, some people, like Gwen... Or, hey. Himself. But they kind of threw off the bell curve. That wasn't important now, though. Getting this guy to chill was.] What do you do?

Thanks, I'm just a bit anxious. I was in the middle of the exam for my Provisional Hero License when I was pulled here.
[He seemed to perk up somewhat at that last question. This was kind of his thing.]
You mean my Quirk? I have super strength, though it developed later than most people's Quirks, so my body can't really handle it at 100%. Right bow I can manage 5%, which is strong, but nowhere near Pro level.
[As nice as Jason seemed, he wasn't about to reveal the truth about his actual Quirk, One-For-All to just anyone.]
What about your Quirk? With a name like Amp you must have some kind of enhancement ability, maybe?
[The more he talked about powers, the more involved and excited he seemed.]

Pro-level? Licenses? You sound like Aizawa, man. [At least Jason's not sticking his foot in his mouth like he did with Aizawa.] It's kinda rough, I know, but from what I hear you'll end up going home at the same instant that you left. Think of this as some extra cram time, if it helps.
[Because all exams were pen and pencil, right? Right.]
So strong you can't handle it, huh? I'm not sure whether that's awesome or a nightmare. Sounds like you can tone it down when you want, at least?
[They're both on the same level when it comes to being able to talk about this stuff. One-For-All, the Morphing Grid, neither can open up without betraying a mentor's trust.]
[Jason can't help but laugh at the guess. Finally!] You know, you're the first person to get that? Everyone else always thinks I've got electrical powers. Dunno why. But, yeah. It's kind of situational, but I can amp up other people's powers. Or give normal people minor powers.
[Not that he's had a chance to put it to much use outside of training.]

[Deku seemed somehow both excited and tense at the idea of that. It's nice that someone from his world is here, but let's just say Aizawa's teaching methods were...fairly strict.]
Well, it's a little tough. [Understatement.] Each time I use 100%, I end up breaking whatever limbs I used. Thanks to our medical technology back home and people like Recovery Girl, I get healed up pretty quickly, but if I keep it up before fully developing my Quirk, I could end up with permanent injuries.
[He realized how gloomy that sounded, so he laughed awkwardly as he continued.]
It's not all bad, though. Once I figured out what amount my body can actually handle, I found out it was a lot easier to activate it across my entire body all at once, rather than just putting everything into one body part. I've also been developing new techniques to use with it, particularly so that I don't have to worry about making my injuries worse.
[When Jason started talking about his own powers, Deku perked up immensely. This was definitely his thing.]
[Given that this was over audio, Jason couldn't see him pull out his notebook entitled "Hero Analysis For The Future, Vol. 13", but he could probably hear Deku furiously scribbling away as he described his powers.]
That's amazing! I've never really heard of anything like... [For a moment he trails off, thinking of All-For-One, but puts it out of his mind. Jason's powers didn't sound nearly as invasive.] ...Well, anything like that! My other guess would have been something sound-based, since. Um. Amplifiers.

[If not, it might be time to gently suggest he talk to someone. If so, wow.]
[Jason grimaces at his end at Deku's attempts at playing off the hazards of his power. Super strength without being able to take it? He can't begin to imagine how much that would suck. He's broken his hand once, punching a brick the wrong way, and the idea of doing that whenever he tried to life more than he could... Wow. Just. Wow.]
Well, we don't have any healers that I'm aware of, not since Mr. Universe vanished. But the future's got some pretty good medical stuff, they can fix up a broken bone pretty quickly. That said, maybe it wouldn't be a good idea for the two of us to pair up.
[On normal people, he makes them faster, stronger, and tougher. On people with powers, he just enhances said powers. He'd feel horrible if he amped Deku to being out of control.]
No offense.

[Not exactly an amazing start to a new school year. Deku shivers a bit remembering it.]
Probably not until I get a better hang of my powers, no. Though I wonder if your ability would also increase my body's ability to withstand the increased strength as well. That would be something to consider testing, but there's no way to get a baseline without risking injury...maybe strapping a force sensor to one of my fingers and just move that? Or maybe my feet, my legs are in better condition...but what if...
[You might want to snap him out of it, Jason. He's gone into full muttering-to-himself mode.]
no subject
[Because that sounds an awful lot like an empty scare tactic. You couldn't just randomly expel people from a school like that!]
Well then, at that point we're just moving to a coin toss, aren't we? "Am I going to enhance his ability to withstand enhancing his abilities or will he move so fast his head explodes?" Either way, it's not exactly something I'd be comfortable with. Not without some serious expert advice first.
