Hey guys. There are a bunch of weirdos running around and it's been a while since we talked about powers. So guess what we're going to do today?

[ 'We' because he expects participation, dammit! ]

And because I'm feeling generous, I'll start. Guess who learned a new thing?

[ He points at himself with both thumbs and backs up, revealing a line of targets. He steps back, lines up his shoulder with them, and winds up his arm like a softball pitcher. He doesn't stop. Grif's arm blurs as he speeds up, and finally the force of the moving air is enough to tip over the nearest target. But only the nearest one. He stops, gestures at it with definite pride, and continues. ]

So let's talk about your powers because we already know mine are pretty awesome.

[ Of course they are, Grif. ]

Has anybody else figured out anything cool? And if you're new: I'm Grif and this is basically my job around here. Tell me what you got, because I'm still way disappointed about the lack of eye lasers we got going on on this team. I could read profiles, but who has time for that crap?

[He's not sure why this surprises him so much. Maybe it's just that it's coming right on the heels of Robbie arriving. After all, Rich had been here for months before him and he'd been here for a few months before Robbie got here.]

[But he hadn't expected...]

[The face that comes on the screen is probably older than Nita remembers. The uniform is still predominantly white and blue, but the top of the hood had been cut off for a headband sort of thing connected to the rest of the uniform. But there's an earnestness in those blue eyes that's unmistakable.]

[Vance's presence isn't nearly the gut-punch Rich's was, and Nita grins. If it's not quite the wattage she usually manages, well, she's had a harrowing few weeks.]

[She's treating this all casually because, well, it's only been a few weeks for her, and after the Rich bombshell, she's run out of intense emotions for a while.

Besides, she doesn't want to ask "so, when'd you get out of jail?" where everyone can overhear. Terrible nicknames: yes. Criminal records: no.]

What if we just asked the staff to ask new arrivals if they've heard of the Avengers or the Fantastic Four or something? That'd be a lot shorter than leaving them list of every hero we've ever met.

Well. As long as you don't mind vegan cake. Some of them aren't too terrible, but it's not really like anything back home.

[He's studying her, as though trying to get a feel for when she might be from. And while he can't tell for certain, he does clear his throat.]

That's possible. I more meant a list of people to call us for if they arrive. Like if Thrash or Angel showed up. [The only two of their group not here. And possibly never going to show up, though he'd love to see what the Legion's medics could do for Angel these days.]
