Hey, um... has anybody been noticing anything weird about themselves since we got back from Braal?

[ Very vague, she knows. How do you ask this kind of question? Instead of stumbling through an unnecessarily confusing explanation, she instead turns her comm over to focus the camera on her left forearm. A portion of her skin, perhaps a handspan in length, has turned a metallic grey, glinting under the cafeteria light. ]

I'm sure it wasn't there when we got back. I didn't notice it at all until like right now. It doesn't itch or anything, but...

[ She brings the comm in really close, trying to give people a better look at the bizarre anomaly on her skin. With awkward balance, she taps it with her fingernail. It makes a very quiet 'tink, tink' sound. ]

Do you think I should go to the med bay?

You should definitely get that looked at. Even if it's nothing that'll harm you, that's the kind of thing we should really try and get some data on.

It's not like that! Nobody's going to start sticking needles and doing weird stuff, but you really should have that scanned.

[ She casts a glance at her arm. ] I wonder if a needle could even puncture this stuff.

There's a lot we can get from scans that don't even require skin contact. If we know what kind of metal is involved here, we'll know what properties it has and we can make an educated guess about how it's going to behave.

Well, yeah, of course you should get it checked out. I mean, like, what if it's contagious? There are a lot of things I never wanna be, and part cyborg is kinda near the top of the list.

[Man, that was kinda creepy. He'd had some nightmares after sneaking out to Blockbuster and getting Terminator 2 to watch with Zack... Not that he ever told anyone about that. But it was still creepy, especially how that reminded him of it.]

I can.. kind of feel it. [ She picks at it with her fingernail. ] But it's more like when one of your limbs fall asleep and then you touch it. It doesn't feel like yours anymore. [ She shakes her head. ] It looks like it should be a scab, but it doesn't have any edges.

Maybe you shouldn't pick at it. If it's some kinda space rash, you might be, uh. Raw underneath or something. I'd take it to Doctor Gym'll just in case.

[ At Jason's admonition, she stops picking, rubbing her palm back and forth over it instead. ]

[ She forces herself to get up, sighing. ] I didn't even know you could still get sick with all the stupid future medicine they have here.

It may be some kind of unforeseen manifestation of your powers, but we should scan you to be sure.

What does that mean? Why would my powers be manifesting? What's that even mean?
