[ There's a perplexed looking young man in view of the screen. Anyone familiar with Locus will probably recognize him, but something's definitely different. That tell-tale x-shaped scar? Gone. His hair is shorter, hanging just below his jaw. Moreover, his eyes don't quite hold that thousand-yard-stare to them just yet.

He looks, well. Teenaged.

He's also holding Luna up to view. She's purring heavily, but he appears bewildered by her presence, if anything. ]

Does anyone know whose cat this is? I just...found her here when I woke up.

Then I don't think we come from the same place.

[ It's the only logical explanation. He knows he's telling the truth, she believes what she's saying. Something's not matching up, for whatever reason.

She doesn't seem of an age to simply make this sort of thing up. ]

Is there anyone around you you know? Your mother or...

[She'll find out about time ripples in her conversation with York, and eventually she'll grow curious and leave her room, but for now she's still under the impression wherever she is; it's on Earth as she knows it. Which means she's still regarding Locus with a fair bit of wariness.]

I haven't seen anyone familiar, yet.

[She does miss her mother already but she's not going to mention that. Just going to be strong and stoic. Yup. She's got this. Totalllllly got this.]

[ Okay. This might be a little more serious in that case. At the very least, it doesn't seem like a good idea for her to be left alone when no one's very clear on what's going on, or how far from home they really are.

His brow furrows briefly in thought. ]

I'm Sam. What's your name?

[A long moment of hesitance, she's still not sure about this.]

Fareeha.

Fareeha.

[ It's pretty. And he gives her a very small smile. ]

Your mom has a rule about going places with strangers, I'm sure. Mine did, and we weren't really all that special. But if we know one another, but then we're not technically strangers.

[ At this, Luna gives a might stretch and a yawn, before lifting herself up to resettle across Sam's shoulder, head bumping against his ear. ]

[She rolls her eyes.]

My mom said people might say that. Knowing someone's name doesn't mean I 'know them' know them. You're military, not allergic to cats, and you go by Sam. That doesn't tell me much.

[But, she's still here talking to him, so obviously she's not convinced he's a bad guy.]

Alright. What would you need to know about me?

[ There. Make it simple for everyone. That should be easy, right? ]

[She thinks for a moment, thinks about the people she has in her life and why they make her feel safe and protected, then she looks at Sam directly;]

Why did you join the military?

My father was a soldier. My grandmother, too. I wanted to be like them, to protect people.

[ That one's almost too easy. It barely takes a moment's reflection. ]

[She smiles, his answer - and the lack of hesitation - tells her a lot.]

It's nice to meet you, Sam.

[ And he smiles, albeit faintly. ]

Nice to meet you too, Fareeha.

Do you want to come see the cat? She's very friendly.

[ He knows better than to insinuate that she wouldn't manage on her own. He knows how well he'd take something like that, at her age. ]

[She nods. She's also getting a little cabin fever and wouldn't mind leaving this room.]

Where can I find you?

I'm not sure. Do you know where you are?

[ He should try to find his way around. At some point. Maybe he can meet her halfway. ]

Hold on a moment.

[She disappears, and there's the sound of a door opening. Adult Fareeha tends to stay in the barraks and use her habitat as a getaway, so Young Fareeha finds herself in that area. She reports back with a hallway and room designation.]

Alright. I'll try to find my way there. Let me know if you go any further?

I'm...still not exactly sure where I am.

I'll be sure to stay on one place.

[Safety first! She'll be right where she told him.]

[ It takes him a while. The sensation of moving from biome to biome is a little disorienting. It shouldn't be possible. And yet.

He finds his way out eventually, and with a little direction, moves towards the barracks. Sure enough, he spies a small figure there. ]

Fareeha?

[Fareeha is a good kid, but she's still a kid, and as the time ticks on she gets more and more antsy about sticking around in one place. She's almost made up her mind to go try and look for him when she finally hears her name, and looks over to see the face from the video ... up and up and up on top of some broad shoulders which are very high up.]

[She stares for a moment, and then closes her mouth when she realizes it had dropped open. Then opens it again because she can't resist asking;]

Were your father or grandmother a Crusader?

[Because she is getting some serious Reinhardt vibes from this guy, seeing him up close.]

[ It's humorous, because one could mistake her for talking about the tank, or something similar. So even out of context, it still draws a smile from him. ]

Not that I know of.
