[ There's a perplexed looking young man in view of the screen. Anyone familiar with Locus will probably recognize him, but something's definitely different. That tell-tale x-shaped scar? Gone. His hair is shorter, hanging just below his jaw. Moreover, his eyes don't quite hold that thousand-yard-stare to them just yet.
He looks, well. Teenaged.
He's also holding Luna up to view. She's purring heavily, but he appears bewildered by her presence, if anything. ]
Does anyone know whose cat this is? I just...found her here when I woke up.

That was the important thing. That was the reason he'd wanted to fight at all. ]
Ring?
[ His eyes fall to a ring that still appears to be on his finger. One he hadn't really noticed before. ]

This is a dream. It has to be.

[ He hovers till he's lounging at about eye height, offering Locus a hand up. ]

But then, he decides to take a leap of faith. Nods and reaches up for his hand and tries. Honestly tries. Wills himself to let his feet leave the ground and...
Suddenly there's no weight to him at all. No solid floor. He's hovering there alongside him and looking around him, bewildered but not frightened, not precisely. ]
This isn't just antigravity, is it?

[ Because why not reference classic children's literature while flying in his livingroom. ]
Nah, some kind of superhero science. We all got powers too when we arrived. You? You don't miss. Ever. And you can turn invisible, I think.
no subject
[ At which point he sort of frowns, like he's suddenly cluing in. ]
But you're...talking about something more than that. Aren't you.
[ He hasn't quite let go of his hand. Not yet. ]

[ There's the other power to ponder over as well. Is it as simple as the ring's power appeared to be? Brow furrowing in thought, he closes his eyes, and a second later? Gone from sight.
That pressure is still there on York's hand, however. A few seconds tick past, and then... ]
Well this would have been useful.

[ Down an eye, all that. But the invisibility is- he's seen it before, with the armor. Having him just shift out of sight is...kinda cool and kinda startling when he's just hanging in his civies. ]
That...is still pretty damn cool. Lemme guess: Hard time at school?
[ Teens and shit, man. ]

When I went to school. We had to move a lot because of the war. Sometimes I'd just read at home, or wherever we were.

[ And here he is, floating and sparing a hand to scoop Luna up and rest her on his abdomen, probably prying. ]
Usually I talk, you listen. You're kinda quiet.
no subject
[ Maybe he's talking too much. He immediately falls silent again, eyes darting elsewhere in the room.
That steady, weighty stare isn't there. In fact, it's almost as though he's been avoiding direct eye contact when he can. ]
no subject
[ He tugs on Locus'- Sam's hand, pulling himself up and over (slick zero g light moves) to peer down into his face. And maybe set Luna on his chest instead. He is, after all, her person. ]
Only reservation I got is I don't know if you'll be. yanno. Comfortable with me hearing this shit when you're older again since this is gonna be temporary.
no subject
He feels the tug, eyes darting back, just in time to spot the exchange of Luna and carefully cradle her to his chest. A moment later, and he's sinking back to the floor. He doesn't want to risk dropping her, after all. ]
If we're friends, then I don't think I would mind.
no subject
Well. He'd seen some of it- most of it- in the Legacy. But there's more. ]
Then it's about time I sat and listened, innit?
no subject
[ He shrugs a little, circling around to sit beside Taylor on the couch, though a small distance away. ]
I'm not very good with making friends. Being invisible might have made things easier. That's all.

[ He shrugs again. ]
Other people usually fill the silence if you let them.
no subject
[ Just pointing that out, here. ]
Finding words is a bitch sometimes, I agree. But we're doing fine.
no subject
I suppose you're right. We must be friends.
no subject
Cute on young him.
He shoves that thought far away as he reaches out to pat Locus' shoulder. ]
Told you.
no subject
You mentioned someone else. Wash?
no subject
[ He scrubs a hand down his face, sighing. ]
I'm just waiting to change my own damn self. That'll be fun.
