[Either Widowmaker had managed to talk someone else into holding her omnicomm up or she managed to prop the device up and get herself exactly where she wanted to be in frame. Given her perfectionist tendencies, it was more likely the latter and she was wearing something quite different than the last time she'd been on the network. Far more practical then the violet catsuit she'd had on before, the color worked better against her blue skin and most of her tattoos were covered, leaving just the one on her right forearm visible past the edge of her glove. Sharp eyes would see the patches on her shoulders were the Legion insignia and even her rifle showed some modification.]
As it appears that purple is no longer in fashion, I decided to switch my look a bit for the field. [Widowmaker's lips curled in a smile that hinted that there was some kind of inside joke taking place.] Something that I consider a 'blast from the past'. Tell me... how does it look?
[She extended her left hand forward in a shooting motion at the omnicomm. Having been kept out of the Olum mission for obvious reasons, designing this superhero costume was how she passed the time. And she wanted to show it off.]

The smugness and teasing disappeared from her face. In fact, any an all emotion vanished from her face as what was left of Amélie inside the construct of Widowmaker's psyche reared its head and needed surpressed. As Sombra learned not too long ago, this was a very touchy subject. And for one like Fareeha, a very dangerous one.]
You know nothing of Gérard. Take care not to make assumptions, Fareeha Amari. You do not want me to stop playing nice.

To be fair, Widowmaker pushed her hotbutton first.][Fareeha watches the change, and takes in a slow and careful breath. She is getting the impression that she's playing with fire right now, but she's not backing down.]
Then maybe you should consider you start playing nice.

I was. [A heavy pause hung in the air before Widowmaker's face took on a bit of life again, leaving the eeriness of what she was behind.] My sense of humor has grown quite dry over the years. Perhaps it was lost on you.

[Fareeha is not going to push it. She's made her point, proved she was just as capable of cutting with words, and in her ignorance thinks that they're back on equal footing.] Let's agree not to talk about the past.
[Right now, she's not sure if she can handle why. Why did she kill her own husband? Why did she turn to Talon?
Why is she blue dabade dabada. ]no subject
Still, she hummed a bit in thought.]
I believe you will find that quite difficult to do. Let us instead agree not to discuss Gérard. There is so much that you do not know nor understand, Fareeha. I would rather not kill you for your ignorance.
[At least not today.]
In turn, I will refrain from rubbing in your inability to join Overwatch. Clearly something about you has changed if you are cuddling with Jameison Fawkes.
Perhaps you are less uptight than you used to be.

Don't assume you know my story, or why I do the things I do. Don't mention Overwatch around me. That's how well both survive this.
[There had been a change, but being here had helped to facilitate it further. Still, no one really talks about her 'inability' to join Overwatch and it was mostly her mother that stopped her (the layer collapse at the HQ didn't help either.]

That outfit isn't flattering, by the way.
[Hey she's just being honest.]

It still makes you stand out.

Which makes me wonder: Junkrat?
no subject
[The reasons she and Junkrat worked, or at least why he worked for her, are far too personal to share with someone like Widowmaker.]

You do realize that I am just going to ask him? I doubt he will tell me to mind my own business.

[As she thinks that she's dimly aware of her current marriage to one of Australia's most notorious criminals, and not for the first time. This was wreaking havoc on her morals.]
Ask him what you want, I don't own him. [But she did hope he had enough consideration to put her feelings above Widowmaker's.]

He's not so bad. So he likes to get a little dirty.
[She fixes Widowmaker with a steely gaze.]
Maybe I can learn something.
[She's not taking about hygiene.]

[Righteous hero-types are always so repressed.]

I'm done here.

[She'll end their communication with the last word... and a better one than she could have left with.]
