I greet you, my fellow Legionnaires.

[ The image accompanying said greeting is that of a young woman with pointed ears and tattoos across the upper part of her face, peering inquisitively into the camera. She thinks she's got this broadcast option thing down. ]

In case we haven't met? My name is Marjara.

[ Her lips quirk upwards, before her expression grows a little more somber. ]

I've been thinking something through. And I think I know what I want to do. But a little experience from other people who might have gone through similar circumstances would help. I think.

[ She's not going to ask them to choose for her. Gods knew she'd never let someone make her mind up for her before now, and she wasn't about to start...but learning about the shift? The consequences? The little things that came along with it that you might not initially think about? Might be worth the time to ask. ]

Have any of you lost a part of you, a limb or...something else of similar importance, and chose to have it replaced? Would you be willing to speak of what it was like for you?

I've had a few bones replaced here and there. Almost needed paper lungs at one point. But never a limb or anything like that. If I may, however, I know several people who did get replacements. Cloned, robotic, or otherwise prosthetic.

Judge Logan lost an arm several times. Same one. He had a robotic arm at one point, then had to grow a cloned one. [It was... creepy. Like a tiny little baby arm growing out of his forearm.] He seemed happy with both results. Rather proud of his cloned arm. He liked to show it off while it was still growing. There was an adjustment period, of course, but by the end of it he was happy to be out on the streets again.

[At least until he lost the arm again.]

[As she's picked Marjara to be an easy place for Widowmaker to start forming 'friendships' within the Legion, she feels obligated to respond to this. Unfortunately, her lack of emotion and empathy made her approach this with bluntness usually reserved for Sombra and Reaper.]

Why ask for things you already know? It will hurt. It will feel foreign and separate from you until you get used to it. It will never feel real like what you lost, but you will get used to it.

You fear none of these, Marjara. And you will not lessen your sacrifice by having it replaced.

[That last bit was conjecture on her part, but what other reason could the elf need such pathetic reassurances.]

Well, one time I got run over by a tank and got most of my organs replaced with some other guy's. Cause he was a cyborg already and didn't need them anymore anyway?

[ Grif shrugs, as if this a perfectly normal thing that could happen to anybody. ]

I didn't actually choose that cause I was kind of unconscious and probably dying? It seems to have worked out pretty good though.

I know of a coupla people that opted for ye olde robo limb replacements and prosthetics to varying degrees of success. All I can tell you is they were good enough to handle well in a fight till they got cut off again.

My appearance alone speaks for itself but yes, I have lost much of my body. To answer your second question would take much time so more specific questions would be needed. But....do not feel offended if I do not answer some of them.

I've lost part of my leg, and Toothless lost a tailfin. We have replacements, but nothing invented here. It's mostly down to wanting to be able to repair things by myself in case anything goes wrong.

Mm... I'm not sure the color being taken out of my hair really counts. But it does kind of stand as a physical reminder of something horrible that happened in my life, but... Even so, I can't see myself dying it or taking it away. Maybe, subconsciously, I look at it as a necessary reminder...

[Rich answers that question by waving to Marjara with his robotic prosthetic, twiddling metal fingers hello.]

I lost mine in a fight before I got here. Unfortunately, cloning tech here isn't advanced enough to clone one compatible with my weird physiology, and my powers would short out any cybernetic tech that was directly attached to my body, so Brainy made me a removable robotic prosthetic.

[He sets his omnicom down on the arm of the couch so he can show Marjara how it works. He pulls up his sleeve to reveal two cuffs that hold his prosthetic in place on the stump, right under the shoulder. He presses two buttons, there's a click, and it slides off. He waves the prosthetic around with his flesh and blood hand.]

I take it off before missions and use my powers to make an arm out of energy during fights, but this has way better dexterity than the energy arm I can make. That's barely more than a tentacle.

It has sensors that read the nerve impulses in my shoulder to make it work the same way a real arm would. The only difference is I can't feel anything with it. You can move it like a real arm but there's no sensation.

I lost an entire arm and my sight.

[She gives a sad smile and gives a small wave with a hand that's as black as shadow.]

Technically, I never actually got it back after I changed. I'm not actually human. When I became a true vampire, I regained my vision, but I never did get my arm back. I did get something else in its place though.

Knew a few people that did. [Accidents happened all the time on site. People he got on alright with. People he hated. Didn't make much of a difference aside from getting second-hand updates on their recovery.

And after the outbreak? Shit no. Couldn't get the government to pass off two sticks to rub together, let alone a functional prosthetic.] Didn't end well.

Oh, sure mate! I've lost me arm,

[He holds up his mechanical hand and waves his fingers in a fluid, synchronized motion,]

my leg,

[leans back enough so he can lift up his pegleg into the frame, giving it a little wave at the pneumatic knee, before sitting back up.]

Couple'a teeth,

[sticks a finger in his mouth to pull back his lip and reveal one of his gold teeth,]

and half of me hair.

[No need to flourish on that one. It's pretty self evident, considering it's perpetually trying to burn itself down.]

A veritable expert on losin' things, as it were! Replaced everythin' but the hair, as you can see, never felt like it was important enough. Whaddya wanna know?

Oh, and don't worry about havin' ta pull punches, mate. I ain't shy about this. [He snaps his fleshy fingers and points to the camera.] Nice tats, by the way. Name's Junkrat, pleasure ta meetcha.

[Man she never gets tired of this story.]

Yeah sure. Accidentally got a cut in my left arm while I was working on my science fair project. Then I just decided to cut the whole thing off and give myself a cybernetic limb.

Because, you know. Why not?

I lost the ability to speak, but I haven't asked to have it repaired here.

I lost my tail! Though it was more trouble than it was worth after a while, so I didn't get it replaced.

If I lost an arm or somethin', I guess I'd get it replaced - I know a few androids back home who are really strong, so I think I'd be able to get used to having a robot arm!
