Okay, let me see if I’ve got this straight.
[ The feed opens on Videl with her usual judgmental expression, but she’s now sporting a significantly more stylish haircut than the last time anyone saw her. ]
It’s been ten years, and you guys still haven’t beaten Chronoblivion? What have you been doing all this time?
[ Further complaining is interrupted by a rustling noise next to her. Videl turns to look to her left and some indistinct mumbling can be heard off screen. ]
It hasn’t been ten years here? Well, how long has it been? [ More mumbling. Videl groans impatiently. ] You’re no help at all.
[ She returns her attention to the camera feed, running her fingers through her hair as she tries to call back memories she’s left untouched for years. It may not be evident by her appearance, but ten years have passed since Videl and Gohan disappeared from an off-world mission around Valor Day. ] I don’t see what the Time Trapper thinks he’s going accomplish by dragging us back now, after all this time. I haven’t been at the top of my game since before Pan was born and Gohan’s training is sporadic at best.
[ She heaves a sigh. Videl’s frustration is only surface-level though; deep down, she’s a flurry of excitement about the idea of reliving her glory days. ]
Anyone mind helping an old lady get up to speed? Last I remember, Gohan and I were on a mission on either Rimbor or Bgztl and it was getting close to Christmas. Or whatever they call Christmas here.

You haven't missed much, though. Two big missions that were kind of a mess, but probably the less said about them the better.

[ And just like the short passage of time suggests, Jason hasn't changed much. It's pretty easy for Videl to guess that he's leaving out a lot of happenings from his casual explanation. ]
Jason, I got older, not dumber. [ She teases, still smiling, but with seriousness setting into the rest of her features. ] Give it to me straight.
[Kerlocked to Videl and possibly Gohan if he was close enough for Jason to see]
It's pretty fresh, so I don't want to scrape any raw wounds. Chronoblivion attacked on two fronts. It set up a trap in a space ship that about half the team went to investigate and provide rescue services for and really just... messed with their heads. Psychic torture. Sounds like some of them turned into monsters and went against the team. [That's just brushing the surface lightly.] Basically half the team's now on mandatory therapy and some of them aren't even bothering to do that.
The other half of the team got to deal with one of its heralds. This guy named the Joker. It was kind of like Naltor all over again, except not everyone made it back this time.
[He hadn't really known Blue Rose. Their paths just never crossed and she was more a jetsetter than he was anyway. He wasn't really hit hard by her death, not on a personal level, but it was... Well.
He was more bothered by how little he was bothered by her death.]
Last I heard we had him in custody.
On top of that, the media's started to do their Legionnaire Legacies. It's about as bad as everyone thought it might be. The first one wasn't bad, but then Dave, Master Chief, and Cortana all got their turns and it was just a mess.
[kerlocked]
It figures. We could've helped, and instead we ended up back home for ten years...

Do you feel a little better now...?
action
Yeah, I guess so. [ The flurry of emotions that had gripped her for the past few hours were finally starting to pass. The anger, confusion, and helplessness were fading as adrenaline left Videl's veins. ] As good as I can be, probably, since we're here and Pan's not.
action
That's probably a good thing, honestly. If I remember correctly, time doesn't really progress for us back home while we're here. [ which is an absurd oversimplification, but it made things easy enough to understand. ] So Pan won't even know we're gone.
action
[ She bites her lower lip. ] But I think that only works as long as nothing happens to us. If we don’t win against Chronoblivion… if we die here… [ She leaves that thought hanging in the air, because it’s one of the ones that has been plaguing her the most since their return. ]

[ She offers a small, dismissive laugh to her father in law. ] Ah hah, I'm not too sure of that. No matter what I do, I've still got more pudge than your son-- and he barely has to try!
[ Yes, throwing her husband under the bus in true Son family fashion. ]

[ Rather than argue about parenting with Goku, Videl takes the chance to shift the conversation slightly. ] Just you wait. Pan’s probably going to set a new record for “youngest Super Saiyan” at the rate she improves.

Hah, sorry, that was kind of rude. [ She offers an embarrassed smile. ] But yeah, I figured it out while I was planning my wedding. I have no idea what was wrong with my teenage self.

Seriously?! Oh god...
video;
Wow, Gwen, I wasn't trying to freak you out or anything. [ Videl teases with a smirk. ] I'll turn off my camera if my wrinkly face is too much for you to handle.
video;
I don't think I appreciate this.
Also, weren't you like, close to my age before? You are so not wrinkly.
You're just an adult, sorry to say.
video;
I think I might’ve been a little younger than you back then. [ She reminisces. ] I hadn’t even graduated high school yet.
I get where you’re coming from. Kind of. I’d probably flip out if I didn’t see my friends for a couple weeks and then they came back way older and acted like it was no big deal.

[Rich shakes his head.]
Someone could probably write a whole book on trying to interpret whatever the Time Trapper's thinking when he jerks us around like he does.
Ten years? Seriously?

[He grins, clearly enthused to hear that.]
Congratulations! Boy or girl? And what's their name?
