I have to say, all the many downsides aside? This is pretty cool. We're basically in the Star Trek future. With aliens!  I mean, I've met an alien before, in a different universe, but she did look fairly human. Aside from the whole faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, able to fly thing she had.

Anyways, hi. [He gives a little wave.] My name's Barry Allen, and I'm the Flash.  Not this universe's version of the Flash, though. I'm from a different one entirely. It's similar, but they showed me a couple pictures of the one from this reality and he wore a lot more spandex than I'm entirely comfortable with.

Getting off of that, it's nice to meet you guys, and I look forward to working with all of you.

[Actually, he wasn't sure if that was normal... But maybe it didn't matter, because, "How old are you?" is an even worse thing to say. (Though he is most definitely thinking it. He didn't look much older than him, honestly. Weird.)

That's actually one of the weirder parts. Most of the alternate universes I've run into, when they have versions of people I know at all? Those versions tend to be mostly the same looks-wise, aside from any scars or metahuman powers that might have happened because they had a wildly different history. This universe has been the odd one out so far.

And it doesn't, sorry. I know Green Arrow, but I'm guessing that's not really the same thing.

Oh, good. I mean, I wasn't sure, but that makes me sound a lot less weird for pointing it out.

[He wasn't close to Barry or the Flash or anything (though something in the back of his mind tells him that's not entirely accurate), but he was an artist, and he noticed, remembered things like the fact that his physique was totally different, and he looked a lot younger, and did AU Barry dye his hair or was he naturally blonde...]

And no, no, that's okay. We're totally different, though, yeah. He's a lot more facial hair and street stuff, and we're a lot more... interstellar police force.

Whoa. I was definitely expecting older and blonder. I guess that's the alternate universe thing for you.

Believe it or not, I do actually have a good explanation for the age difference. It's kind of a complex story that I really don't want to go into the details of, but it basically boils down to someone messed with time enough that I got hit by lightning a few years earlier than I was supposed to.

I try not to think about time travel any harder than I have to. Saves a lot of headaches.

Anyway - Hal Jordan, and if you're not familiar with Green Lanterns, I'm guessing that means you don't know me yet. Or won't at all. Or...whatever.

Well, to be fair, given an infinite multiverse, there's probably an infinite amount of other mes. But there was a version of me native to this universe at one point.

I don't know. The Star Trek expeditions may look like fun, until you remember how many times they nearly die on any given planetary mission. And, I have to say, I wasn't too thrilled with how my first planetary mission turned out either.

[Maybe he shouldn't be bursting bubbles yet. Still, at least Jason had some practice with near-death experiences, so Murder World hadn't been a complete 180 from his normal experience. Although even he wouldn't be able to shake that place off so quickly.]

I'm Jason Grace by the way. I will say it's pretty cool to meet superheroes though -- alien or otherwise. I didn't have a superhero name before this, but they made me come up with one when I arrived...so I go by Bolts. Although, it's less a reference to speed and more a reference to my control over wind and lightning.

You're probably right. My suit being almost entirely shades of red definitely wouldn't help either.

You're not the first person to come here griping about spandex. This universe treats it like it's the only way to dress, but people from all the other universes hate it.

Hate is kind of a strong word. I'm uncomfortable with the idea, sure, but no one's actually forcing me to wear spandex. As far as dimensional differences go, it could be worse. Earth-19's coffee supply was wiped out by blight.
