I guess it works both ways, because I was definitely back for a while but I'm like 95% this is the same splatterball game I was watching right before I went.

Mole Man was tearing up Manhattan and nobody would answer their comms to come help me with it.

I used to look up to all these people. Now I don't even know.

I know it doesn't help anything, but I do know how you feel. It's hard, watching your heroes and knowing that they're fallible.

To be honest?

Saying "fuck you all" and going out and doing good anyway. Doing good in the way you know is right, even if they're telling you otherwise. ESPECIALLY if they're telling you otherwise.

Well, at least I feel better about walking out.

I didn't walk until after I had the New Warriors again. Not until after the first run in with the High Evolutionary because I still thought I could do good there. It took being told that we were a "tarnished brand" to realize that the Avengers weren't what I always thought they were. That either they had changed or I had. Either or both are possible.

Don't feel bad for walking out. You have to do what's best for you, first.

Stark did. Cap...didn't exactly agree with him, but he thought it would be better to fold the New Warriors in under the Avengers.

I basically told them both where they could stick it and tossed my card on the table and walked out. So, you know. You're keeping up a time honored tradition.

Them, I mean. Sounds like you were cool as heck.

I don't know if I was cool or if I was just angry. I think it was mostly the latter.

If you do something cool 'cause you're mad, it's still cool.

[ Sam's never been intentionally cool in his life, if accidental cool doesn't count he has nothing. ]

I'm not entirely certain that's the way it works, but I'll take it.
