Unrelated to anything, purely out of curiosity, is anyone here afraid of heights, small, dark places, or drowning? Is there anyone who can't swim?
littlecousin: (☠☠☠☠! blastaar?!)

Wait, what?

[Goddammit why is her homeland assholes all the way down?]

Was it Attuma again?
walkingballpit: (42)

[personal profile] walkingballpit 2017-01-30 11:41 am (UTC)(link)
Again?

[ Because some of them thing there's this massive surface vs sea rivalry, when really the surfacers tend to forget they exist? ]

Does he have a thing against Newfies?
littlecousin: (um eww)

[personal profile] littlecousin 2017-01-30 05:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I dunno, probably no more than against surface-dwellers in general.

[personal profile] walkingballpit 2017-01-30 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know why. We throw great parties.
littlecousin: (exposit for the reader now‚ k?)

[personal profile] littlecousin 2017-01-30 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Seriously, Robbie, who attacked the surface?

[She needs to know it wasn't Namor, okay.]
walkingballpit: (26)

[personal profile] walkingballpit 2017-01-30 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Huh? It was Attuma. I thought we covered that.

[ Naw, it wasn't Namor. ]
littlecousin: (this is stupid)

[personal profile] littlecousin 2017-01-30 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, ugh.

[Pause.]

He's not strictly Atlantean. I mean yeah, same species. But he's one of the barbarians. Not part of imperial army or anything.

[Atlantis might suck but she doesn't want them being accused of sucking when it's not actually their fault for once.]

[personal profile] walkingballpit 2017-01-30 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey, don't look at me like that. I called him a warlord. That's not a word I bust out too often, but I was trying cover both the not-legit-ness of the guy and yet not come out and use the word barbarian because I don't like using that on another species.
littlecousin: (what is your DAMAGE‚ heather?)

[personal profile] littlecousin 2017-01-30 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
That's what we call 'em. [Shrug.] 'Cause they totally are.
walkingballpit: (52)

[personal profile] walkingballpit 2017-01-31 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not arguing - he flooded a city. I just don't like name-calling Atlanteans because there's a huge culture gap.

It's not like any of us care what surface-dwellers think.

[Waaaaait that came out wrong.]

...You know what I mean. Atlantis is way more stuffy, but our ethics aren't that different.

[ Robbie just raises an eyebrow for a good ten seconds. ]

I have a hard time believing Atlantis is stuffy when every one runs around in bathing suits all the time. I'm not complaining though.

[ Yes, it's revenge for getting lumped in with all surface-dwellers. ]
littlecousin: (well no. you're being a jerk. again.)

[personal profile] littlecousin 2017-01-31 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
You've met Namor. I know you've met Namor.

[He is so stuffy, Robbie.]
walkingballpit: (29)

[personal profile] walkingballpit 2017-01-31 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
Met, yeah. But I can't tell you a single thing he likes besides Speedos and Brilliantine. I don't know him. I just figured he was more like - well, you, but you with the whole uneasy lies the head that wears the crown thing.
littlecousin: (this family has good genes)

[personal profile] littlecousin 2017-01-31 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
[Come on, the whole world knows he also likes blonds.]

The family resemblance mostly ends at looks.

[And stubbornness.]
walkingballpit: (25)

[personal profile] walkingballpit 2017-01-31 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
[ Well, okay, but who doesn't think Sue's pretty? Or Emma? ... come to think of it, Robbie has similar crushes. ]

Looks, powers, fashion choices, a certain amount of expecting people to listen to you although you're totally not as bad, a preference for surface superhero teams, hating to lose, tiny wings, and... I guess a sense of empathy.
littlecousin: (look dramatic for the cover)

[personal profile] littlecousin 2017-01-31 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
[With Namor you can also make a strong case for Cap and the original Human Torch.]

Everybody hates to lose!

[Yeah okay zoom in on that one, Nita.]
walkingballpit: (36)

[personal profile] walkingballpit 2017-01-31 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
Sometimes it's not about winning and losing?

[ Although Robbie has the feeling he's going to lose this argument. ]
littlecousin: (well that was easy)

[personal profile] littlecousin 2017-01-31 01:02 am (UTC)(link)
If it's not about winning or losing then you can't lose.

[Obviously.]
walkingballpit: (16)

[personal profile] walkingballpit 2017-01-31 01:07 am (UTC)(link)
[ ... that's got to be some sort of argument-losing record. ]

Oookay. That's a good point, but when it's not about winning or losing then you can't not-lose either, because no one's thinking about winning or losing at all. You're just trying to find a way to compromise.

littlecousin: (girl talk)

[personal profile] littlecousin 2017-01-31 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
Now you're just quibbling because you don't want to lose the argument.

[Nita really only hates losing when it makes her look bad, and as far as she's concerned, trolling your friends is a good look.]
walkingballpit: (32)

[personal profile] walkingballpit 2017-01-31 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
[ Agreeing that it was an argument is admitting that she won.

... he is, perhaps, not great at losing himself.
]

This isn't an argument! An argument is a connected series of statements intended to establish a proposition.
