[ It’s that time again, gang! Grif’s broadcasting from scenic his room. You can tell it’s Grif’s room because it is an absolute disaster area. There’s all kinds of empty containers strewn everywhere, a pizza box, his other uniform (it’s rumpled and in serious need of a wash), and scattered bits of an orange suit of armor. Of note to those who’ve born witness to this appalling scene before, the far wall has a shiny little plaque on it. That’s new.

All of this is visible in the frame because Grif’s slouching back in his chair with the comm propped up on his desk. He’s a scruffy, somewhat flabby guy swiveling his chair lazily to and fro with one leg while eating… something as he talks. With his mouth full. Because Grif. ]

Alright guys, it’s come to my attention, as the one who tries to keep track of this shit around here, that we have new people. And when we have new people, that means we have new superpowers to figure out how they work.

[ Because clearly, clearly Grif is the only member of the team to take an interest in others and what they can bring to the table. It’s not that he’s nosy and just wants to know if anyone has eye lasers yet. He just gives and gives for this group, he swears.

Grif deigns to swallow before he continues. ]

So: New people. Lay it on me. Who are you, and can you do anything awesome? If it’s not awesome, make it sound awesome, cause that’s what I’m here for.

I’ll start for you:

[ He thumbpoints at his chest, getting space twinkie crumbs everywhere because he’s using that hand. ]

I’m Grif, Doubletime if you want to be that nerd who uses my code name, and I’m pretty much the fastest thing on this ship. Which is awesome.

[ He pauses for a moment, then adds, ]

…And the rest of you should probably come say hi? Tell them stuff? And tell me about the mission because I was stuck back here babysitting the ship and I mean... I took a lot of good naps, but...

[ He shrugs. Then he finishes off the space twinkie, balls up the wrapper, and throws it over his shoulder where it lands on top of the orange helmet. He is not even remotely concerned by this. ]

[Shima was now on what Ana likes to call her "Not sure which type of bullet to use on" list. It was not a good list to be on.]

Well, dear, just try your best not to get hit in the first place, and you won't have to worry too much about it either way.

[Just hope you never get paired up with her for training exercises, Shima.]

Guess that won't be a problem. I'm pretty good at that part.

[ He could hope for that to never happen, but chances are he deserves that kind of suffering. ]

[Ana was always good at putting the fear of god into new recruits. It only ever took one training session.]

[Makes it easier to hit from long range.]

[ The pink hair probably doesn't help make him less of a target, either. ]

Ya think? [ But he does seem to take that compliment as an actual, well, compliment. ] Ha, yeah, I really do! Thanks. [ It's a lie, he does not. ] Sooo, world's greatest sniper? Was that all with healing ammo, too?

[If it were anyone other than Ana, she would probably have trouble believing someone so thick headed could exist. But then, she worked with McCree, who still goes around wearing a belt-buckle that says "BAMF", so.]

Ah, no. The biotic rifle is a recent thing. Back then I was...shall we say, more of a traditional sniper. But I was also a much better shot back then. I still had my dominant eye, which was cybernetically enhanced. I could shoot farther and better than the numbers I mentioned earlier.

Still, even with my current handicaps, I can give the other "world's greatest sniper" a run for her money any day.

[If you were talking about her actual skill, Ana was immensely proud of her own abilities. But unlike many snipers, the actual people she's killed with that skill is another matter entirely. The notches on her rifle were a reminder to grieve, not a trophy.]

...how can there be two greatest snipers? So you have a rival?

[ Even at her age? Wow. ]

I was retired for a while, in a manner of speaking. We've run into each other several times on the battlefield since I've returned to the fighting.

[Ana wasn't entirely comfortable mentioning the fact that Widowmaker was also the one who left her with a missing eye. That was still something of a sore point for her.]

Her skills are incredible, but as a human being she's nothing but reprehensible. I might have killed people in the line of duty, but she's just a sadistic, cold-blooded murderer.

[It also didn't help that she was once the wife of one of Overwatch's top agents. To Ana, it was more than just fighting some enemy combatant, this was someone who betrayed her family.]

[ "Okay, but is she hot?" is something he is absolutely not going to ask. Nope, no way, doesn't matter if he's curious. Instead, he'll settle for something a bit more thoughtful, like, ]

Huh. I think I'd rather have you shooting me than her, in that case. At least you aren't actually planning to murder anyone... uh... right?

[That was enough to snap her out of getting too grim, and she laughed slightly.]

Of course not, dear. Injure, maybe, but certainly not murder.
