So, we all kind of had a rough time on Naltor. And I think some of us realized that we could probably know our teammates a little better than we actually do. I mean, I know I did. Sooooo, I was kind of thinking that, you know. Maybe we should do some kind of team bonding stuff? You know, get to know each other a little better.

[It should probably be stated that he doesn't sound awkward at all during this. Jason actually sounds pretty excited about it all!]

I've been talking to a few people here and there and Mr. Brande pointed out an island he wouldn't mind letting us use. Nice, tropical, a stretch of beach for swimming here, some woods there... As long as we're responsible, we'd be good. We'd have a chance to unwind and plenty of time to hang out.

I've already set up a fire ring near the beach, but we can move it further into the woods if you guys like. The Legion can supply us with tents and food and I already have a ton of s'more makings available. I also had some help setting up some benches and stuff so we can sit down at a table or do trust falls or something like that. Or, you know, we can just sit and talk about home all night.

Oh. Guys, if you don't have swimsuits, specifically ask for trunks from the Athramites. Somehow speedos became the 'in' thing in the future.

Anyway, if you're interested, meet up at the threshold gates! If you're not, I'm holding the s'more ingredients hostage.

I don't know how people play them, I slept through that part. All I know is I woke up covered in balloons and was zapping myself on doorknobs for a week.

[It was a fun seminar and everyone had a great time.]

Are the s'mores normal here, or is this another of those things they totally don't get right anymore?

Maybe you need some help checking those ingredients, is all I'm saying. You know. For science!

Nah, man, they've got s'mores just fine. I already tested it pretty thoroughly.

I may have exaggerated when I told the cooks it was an ancient Earth secret for spending nights in the wilderness, though. Just slightly.

Dunno, sounds like about the right level of importance to me.

I don't actually blame the future for thinking Speedos are cool. I blame the seven out of ten planets that already thought that centuries ago.

[ Okay, that's an empirical estimate from his own experiences and not hard data, but there's been a lot of questionable fashion choices in the universe at large for a while, is all he's saying. ]

I don't know who's to blame for Speedos, but I'm not wearing them.

Maybe we can get that into the by-laws. No Speedos permitted on team-building vacations.

It probably wouldn't be hard to set up some kind of anti-Speedo committee.

[ Videl finds herself nodding as she listens to Jason. ] That sounds like an amazing idea!

I mean, we're all from different worlds and stuff, but we're a team here and we should start acting more like one. I don't even know everybody's name or where they're from or what powers they have. How are we supposed to coordinate ourselves during a crisis if we don't know each other's strengths and weaknesses? Not every mission is going to go as smoothly in our favor as Naltor did.

Well, I'd been wanting to do it for a while, but... Well. Circumstances got in the way, you know?

[Personally, he thinks Naltor could've gone more smoothly. But then, he'd rather not think about Naltor at all, if possible. Dealing with casualties and disaster zones was a little more than he'd expected when he joined up.]

I think just being more social in general might help, but making friends with an event like this is probably a good start. At least then we can let other new guys in on what some of the others are like, you know?

[ Well, okay, making friends. That's... also something that should happen. Videl was thinking more along the lines of group training exercises and team skirmishes, but making friends matters too, she guesses. ]

I... guess we could all use some more friends. [ She admits, managing sincerity despite the conversation veering in a different direction than she was expecting. ] Most people here aren't lucky enough to have someone from home to keep them company.

[That had been on the menu, too. But Jason's a firm believer in the idea that teamwork gets nowhere if the team members don't understand one another.]

I'm not expecting all of us to be best buds right from the start, but I think that if people know who to turn to for things like science help or powers examples... Like, you know, I only told you part of what I did on Naltor because the entire thing wasn't important. [Or, rather, it hadn't seemed important at the time. He still wasn't 100% on what she did, either. Jason should probably actually read his team files.] Once we know each other, that'll give us an actual square one to start from.

... What are s'mores?

[ Yes that's the part Gohan hones in on. What is it and can I eat it? ]

S'mores are campfire sandwiches. You know, a pair of graham crackers sandwiching some chocolate bars and marshmallows. Back home we'd use Hershey's, but they don't have those in the space future, so I'm just using regular chocolate. Oh, and you've gotta toast the marshmallow over a fire first.

[A vegetarian future? Sure. But definitely not a vegan future.]
