[bombsaway]

[ An incredibly fuzzy image blips across the screen, dark with some patches of skin, which ends up looking like a forehead as the camera pulls back a little. The screen shudders and the audio rustles noisily as she sets up the camera to point it at herself. She speaks directly over the speaker, mumbling low under her breath at first. ]

Testing, testing...

[ Then she draws back completely and with the most utmost concentration, she positions it so it captures at least most of her upper body. She's a skinny little teenager with massive hair, decked out in all black. ]

Hellooo, Legionnaires! Lash here, and this is experiment number three. Now I know, I know, I know what you're thinking! "What's with this cute mysterious girl? Boy, would I love to know more about her! Why doesn't she say a few words about herself?!" Well, that's because we've got way more important things to do here!

[ She giggles, an almost diabolical squeaking that sounds distinctly like a "Teeheehee!" ]

Check this out!

[ She presses her palm against the wall of her room, the ones the Legion assigns the newcomers, and her entire body begins to slowly transform. Not just her body, but her clothing, too. The semi-matte texture of the smooth wall turns Lash into a statue of white. Her wild hair almost seems a little too top-heavy, though, and she tilts slightly to one side. ]

Whoa— OK! Looks like the volume is a liiiiittle more equal to the mass than my actual hair, but it's not too bad. I can work with this.

I got them to upgrade my phone, instead. I pretty much carry it everywhere I go already.

I had a feeling you'd say something like that. It's almost like, I dunno, people want to see me embarrass myself!

[ She doesn't seem at all upset though, still grinning. It seems only those who are proficient hackers can extract that sort of compromising footage. ]

But hey, no point in trying to pry sensitive records from me when there's totally no record of it anywhere anyway, right? So let's drop it! What do ya go by, anyway?

Gwen Stacy, but my far-cooler name is Spider-Woman.

I do all sorts of cool spider things.

[bombsaway]

Spider-Woman! Teeheehee, that's cute!

[ She reaches over to touch a glass of water, slowly turning into a translucent frosty-coated glass. ]

So like, what, you spin webs and eat bugs?

[deafleppard]

[Excuse you Spider-Woman is COOL and AMAZING and not cute.]

Uh, I have web shooters and I stick to walls but ew on the eating bugs.

[bombsaway]

[ Her face also screws up in disgust, but she's back to grinning again. ]

Yeah, I figured it has something to do with the actual USEFUL stuff about spiders. So scaling buildings and stuff is a cinch, huh?

[deafleppard]

I don't even break a sweat. And you know how spiders are actually pretty strong to be able to do all that other stuff? Got that, too.

Which comes in really handy for being a drummer.

[bombsaway]

Neat! I guess all that's pretty cool! So you're totally OK with this dubious world-saving gig here on the moon? Being a bunch of freaks, saving the universe or whatever?

[deafleppard]

Freaks is kind of a rough way of putting it. There's people out there that would want to be doing what we are, but won't ever get that chance.

[bombsaway]

Yeahhhh, well them's the breaks I guess. Rough's what it is, though, isn't it? I'm not gonna sugarcoat it! My power makes me pretty darn freaky!

[deafleppard]

Maybe a 5/10 on the overall weirdness scale.

[bombsaway]

Whaaaaat, I'm that boring? Ugh, fine, then what's the weirdest thing you've seen then?

[deafleppard]

I say this a lot, but. Psychic alien vampires that wanted to make a scrumptious meal out of me.

Also, a talking pig with spider powers that shows up whenever I hit my head a bit too hard.

[bombsaway]

Er...

[ Rubs her chin, makes a long exaggerated HMMMMM sound. ]

Yeah, OK! You got me there. 5/10 on the weirdness scale is totally understandable now. Are all these a part of your weird spider powers too?

[deafleppard]

Apparently having spider powers made me extra delicious to them.

Go figure.
