It is as it sounds. All omnics possessed programming that forced them to kill humans. But they managed to give that up for the sake of peace and harmony.

I mean, it's cool that they managed to give that up. It's kind of weird that they had that programming in the first place. Who the heck thought 'kill all humans' was a good programming choice?

I cannot answer that question. Omnics were originally created and programmed to serve and defend humans. What caused that to change, I do not know the answer.
