[The omnicom's sensitivity is the only thing keeping Kubo's post legible. The poor boy has finally discovered all that the modern music industry has to offer (or at least a significant chunk of it) and he's screaming with all the excitement his bard heart can muster into the voice recognition software.]

What's your favorite song and whats your favorite

Band I guess? Is that the word? Band! or performer! Because I'm a musician but I don't know much about all this space music and space machines!

That's a tough one. I don't think I have a single favorite. Maybe Metallica? But I also like Bon Jovi, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, AC/DC...

I don't know how much of that survived to this time or if those bands even existed in this universe.

Oh, hey, looks like some of it did. They have some "ancient" music archives.

[He links "Living On a Prayer"vfiguring it's upbeat and not really inappropriate for a kid to listen to. The concept of two poor people trying to make things work isn't hard for someone from another culture to understand.]

I haven't had time for music much in recent years, though. [He smiles.] So I might take you up on that. Any chance you're willing to give us a little preview of your music?

Anyway, that's the audio file that Rich receives back, and it's a pretty neat rendition, for all that it cuts out about a third of the way through, then resumes again after a technologically-challenged blank pause.]

I think Rich already mentioned a lot of my favorites. I'll throw in Radiohead and Live, but they're not as badass as Metallica.

Favorite songs... that's harder. It's more of a mood question than favorite band, because it's about the lyrics. I guess the safe answers are things like "November Rain" by Guns and Roses or "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey. There's "Stay" by Lisa Loeb, everybody forgets that one until they hear it and realize they remember all the words.

It sucks because I haven't been able to find any music from home in this universe like other people.

Unfortunately, I come from a time before recordings and am absolutely terrible at singing, so I can't really share any of the music from Berk. Probably for the best really. A lot of it involves bagpipes.
