Guten Morgen! [ For those with their earbud translators in, the cheery opening will translate seamlessly to Good morning! Someone’s up bright and early and ready to work. ]

My name is Dr. Angela Ziegler and I’m here to be of assistance. I have experience working with medical applications of nanotechnology [ understatement of the year ] and organizations such as these. I assure you nothing you could bring would phase me. Feel free to contact me at any time should you require patching up.

If there are any preexisting medical conditions or developing ones you possess, it would be in both of our best interests for me to be informed. Privately, of course. [ That whole patient-doctor confidentiality at work. ] I’m operating out of my lodgings for the time being. My door is always open to patients so please stop by when you have a moment.

[ A sentiment she genuinely means given her part of the Legion is a small infirmary and medical lab. Nothing could possibly go wrong there. ]

Yes, formerly. [ And she decides to leave out the plethora of reasons how that came to be. ] Are you familiar with the organization?

You could say that. My mother was a notable member of the team, and I spent many years of my childhood around them.

Sorry, Dr. Ziegler, still getting used to all of this. ( and old habits die hard when you come from the military where you have to gather intel first. ) I haven't been here long either.

That's right. I've only just agreed to join their team, and haven't had much time to explore.

[76 would be very hard-pressed to forget this voice, and as soon as he hears it over his omnicomm, he's on edge. Had this been a short time ago, he would have written it off as just another facet of what was surely some kind of drug-or-torture-induced simulation meant to extract intel from him. After some days and more than a handful of encounters, however, he's starting to come around to the notion that all this Legion stuff is probably real.

This is really happening. That is really Angela Ziegler, and she's really here.

But he has to be sure, which means ignoring her audio message and making an attempt to seek her out in person. He waffles about coming clean the whole way to the habitat deck, knowing that if he doesn't, Ana most certainly will out him. If that has to happen, he'd rather it be on his terms. That's what brings him to her infirmary, though he isn't exactly good at being friendly about it. 76 still expects to be jumped by Reaper at some point, which means he's not going anywhere without his pulse rifle.

You'd have to ask those in charge of it. I have my own projects to resume work on and my own space makes this an easier task.

[ And also harder to steal if she can keep a closer eye on it. She may be a bit touchy on the subject of misuses of her technological breakthroughs from personal experience. ]

Sorry, you're right. I'll ask Querl about it later. They shouldn't be kicking doctors out of the lab, if all Legionnaires are supposed to be treated the same regardless of universal origins.

[ Also someone should be able to keep an eye on anyone dabbling in nanotechnology. ]

Given the Medbay's workload, your help providing medical services is appreciated.

However, offering medical services from your quarters would hardly be sterile or properly equipped, and given our recent upgrades in digital security, it might perhaps be wise to use the Legion's new systems for securing patient medical records.

If you would prefer to have a lab workspace in your quarters for private research instead of being provided a space in the Science Labs, that's perfectly acceptable and you can feel free to requisition equipment appropriate for your needs. However, when it comes to practicing medicine, the team does prefer to centralize all medical treatment through the Medbay. Any displacee Legionnaires who are medical practitioners are welcome to join the Medbay staff.

Medical applications of nanotechnology? That sounds fascinating!

[ Tadashi is emphatically not being sarcastic about this. Robots and medicine combine in fascinating ways, and he's probably not going to see how Hiro's bots change the face of medicine back home. ]

I'm not a doctor, so most of it is probably over my head, but I'd love to hear more about it! At some point when you're more settled in, I mean.
