[ The first thing that could be seen was a shot of the medbay ceiling, followed immediately with a groggy groan. The camera unsteady, taking a few seconds to settle on the man's face... before showing Reinhardt, out of his armor, looking every bit like he just got up from a long sleep. ]

Augh... I feel like I slept the sleep of the dead...

[ Bad choice of words there, but he sure isn't awake enough to notice. One hand coming up to rub the sleep from his eyes, as he continued. ]

Friends, tell me... [ His hand came down from his face, looking more than a little concerned. ] Was anyone hurt? Are the veterans safe?

[ Seeing that reaction, Zenyatta thinks two things: either this man was involved in the events of Colu or has had negative relations with robotic lifeforms in the past. Zenyatta has seen this time and time again, but it is also why he continues to venture out to connect with those people.

Back home or here, that path of his has not changed. ]

My name is Tekhartha Zenyatta. I have yet to pick out a hero name, however.

[ Zenyatta cannot shake the sense that he's missing something and is currently searching through all of his files in his memory banks. This man isn't someone he has personally met. Of that, he is sure, but where does this nagging feeling in his soul come from...? ]

I fought in the Omnic Crisis.

[ He didn't want to beat around the bush. He knew what Zenyatta was, and he needed to address this right off the bad. He'd already done a bad job of hiding his reaction, which didn't help matters. So, might as well ask the million dollar question, even if he knew the answer: ]

Are you an omnic?

I am, although I was not around during that time. I am was created after it ended.

[ That narrows it down, and Zenyatta starts searching for people who fought in the Omnic Crisis but not someone he met in person. His lights flicker when he find a record that could explain his feeling of déjà vu. ]

... I think we are connected through being a friend of a friend. Perhaps twice.

[ Genji through Overwatch and Mondatta through the King's Row uprising of Null Sector. ]

[ There's a lot here for Reinhardt to unpack. The confirmation that he was an omnic being central to the entire thing. Not that he was foolish enough to judge him based on that, of course not. But there was a bias there that he would've been foolish to ignore... ]

... I do not know you, and I do not believe it to be fair for me to judge you without knowing you.

[ Finally, he drops the tense demeanor, and shares a smile with Zenyatta. ]

I am Reinhardt, of Overwatch. And I will judge you through your actions, my friend.

Ah! You are! Forgive me for not recognizing you sooner. I have heard stories about you from my student, Genji, and I heard you helped rescue my brother, Mondatta, from Null Sector.

I was not aware Mondatta had a brother! And if you know Genji, then you are certainly a friend of mine!

[ He remembered Null Sector very clearly. He remembered it being Tracer's first mission, and boy was she nervous about it. She had every right to be, of course, given King's Row was basically a war zone at the time. But at the end of the way, they rescued the hostages, and that was what mattered. ]

Thinking about it now, the resemblance is uncanny. [ A chuckle. ] I'm not sure why I didn't see it before.

If my Shambali robes were not in tatters, our appearances would be even more similar. We were both garbed in white.

[ He gives a small laugh. ]

... Although, it was harder for me to keep them staying that way. I tended to get them dirty, much to Mondatta's displeasure.

[ So many frustrated sighs. ]

Zenyatta's pulled my ass out of the fire more than once. He's good.

[He gets it - it'd be like throwing Wash in with a Sangheili and expecting everything to be fine - but hopefully vouching for Zenyatta will help, if only a little.]

I will not judge him based on what he is.

I will judge him based on what he does.

[ Whether he was telling that to Wash, or himself, was another matter entirely. ]

... But it is good to know his actions have spoken loudly.

I think that's all any of us can ask for.
