I suppose the short version would be such: Many years ago, I became Undead, and was sent to the Northern Undead Asylum along with many like myself. Eventually another Undead from Astora freed me, and told me of an ancient prophecy his family held. That an Undead who makes his way to the ancient land of Lordran might be Chosen, and find a way to end the curse of Undeath.
[He sighed slightly.]
The truth was much more complicated than that. Suffice to say, despite listening to those damned, toothy serpents and completing my quest, the curse still remains. It's been...two or three centuries since then, I suppose. Time flows strangely in Lordran, so it is hard to tell.
