-A new face has appeared! At least new to almost everyone of the Legionnaires save for one. And boy does she have a ten mile wide smile. She's practically bounding in her seat as she starts to record the video. Fortunately for her, these devices aren't impenetrably high tech. Hell, compared to spellphones, they're downright antiquated by being an actual physical object. Still, those blue eyes of her (what was with the odd rings in her irises?) were shining with what could only be described as wonder.-

"To the Legion of Superheroes I make this solemn pledge: To use my powers for good. To fight for justice and protect the innocent. To aid my fellow Legionnaires in times of peril and to keep their secrets safe.

I choose a new name to honor the heroes of the past. I am Miss Guns-n-Roses!"

It all sounds so romantic! The life of a super hero! I can hardly believe it! If there are three jobs every girl wants in life, they are being a queen, being a rock star, and being a super hero, and while I've come really close to two of those, this third one is right at my doorstep! I'm already here, even!

Who knows, in between rescuing cute alien animals and saving innocent people from danger and evil, I might even finally find MR. Guns-n-roses! -She's starting to talk faster, like really fast...- Can you imagine? If I were the wife of a super hero, with both of us being super heroes, we'd become the ultimate power couple! The literal ultimate power couple! Our honeymoon would be on a distant planet with the most gorgeous of sunsets over a glowing ocean, but be interrupted by a sudden attack from a dastardly, scheming villain! He'd cackle, -She deepens her voice throwing her head back and turning her hands upwards with fingers hooked- "MWA HA HA HA! I FINALLY HAVE YOU, MR AND MRS GUNS-N-ROSES! PREPARE TO SUFFER!"

But our love is too strong for them! In a long, blistering battle, we destroy the evil with the marvelous full strength of love between husband and wife! A bond unbreakable by the most terrorizing villains of the galaxy! We'll stand as a testament to love, and when the dust settles, we'll hold each other closely! Mr. Guns-n-Roses will say to me -Another deep voice, and a bad British accent, apparently?- "Darling, I don't just fight for the galaxy, I fight for you, and nothing can take you away from me~"

-... Her nose is bleeding. A lot. Oh god.- So perfect...

A-anyways, hello! -She quickly grabs a tissue to dab up that rush of blood.- I'm actually Elphelt Valentine! It's nice to meet you all, and I hope we can all work together for a better tomorrow~!

Happy to be here! I wonder when I get to start actually doing stuff, though...

That kind of depends, really. There's always plenty to do as far as stopping petty crime goes, but... we don't really know when bigger threats will pop up. We just stay ready for them.

I'd say just use this time to look around? Get acclimated?

Trust me, "you just got here" didn't mean much back home when it came to things getting exciting.

I hear there's a lot of places to shop at in New New York.

I haven't actually been to them, but... well, they can't be that hard to find, right?

New New York-- or, well, New York-- is apparently pretty common in a lot of worlds.

I've heard a bunch of people here mention it, although I'm pretty sure they're all talking about different versions of New York.

I've never even heard of New York until I got here. The closest thing we have is West City.

Judging by the habitat deck, I'd say about six of us actually come from some variation of New York.

Well, I'm not FROM New York, but Mr. Badguy from back home was! It's a pretty wild place... really, most of A Country is, but I guess that's part of its charm, right?

Out of curiosity... is New York the capital of your world? Every book I find says no, but every person I ask says yes.

It's definitely not the capital of mine! It's way too small for that. Paris is more or less the capital of Illuria, which I guess makes it capital of the world...

... I don't... think I've ever read about Illuria...

In my time... Or I guess I should say "world"? A-anyways, where... um when... WHERE and WHEN I come from, it's a large kingdom that spans most of Europe and the Middle East, with executive power held by three elected Kings.

I usually just say timelines or universes, since that's what I have the most experience with. But they basically mean the same thing, so it's not really a big deal...

Based on what I've read of Europe and the Middle East though, that... sounds like a really big kingdom.

I guess that's why there's three Kings, then, right?

It was set up by the United Nations to provide some kind of central base of political power, since most of the world is, well... A-anyways, the point is, it's help stabilize a lot of things in the world. But... -The Santus Populi situation hadn't been resolved by the time she wound up ported away.-

[ He could be oblivious at times, but even he could pick up on this being a topic she didn't really wanna talk about. So, he decided to shift gears. ]

You know, speaking of timelines... I keep noticing that everyone here seems to have the same calendar system. Which is especially strange for me, because our calendar system back home has a completely different way to keep track of the years.

That is a little weird! I mean, if there are multiple New Yorks, I guess there were multiple Pope Gregory XIII's...

Well, see... the months are the same back home, so that's not really the problem. It's more just...

Well, let's put it this way. Back home, the year is Age 784.

Ftom a technical standpoint you could say that, since it's where the United Nations building is located, but it's not really the capital of anything. It's just the largest city in the world, and one of the most populated. And it's been a center for international commerce, education, science, and the arts longer than anyone can remember.

... So it's not the capital, but it's such a large city with so much business and culture, that it might as well be?

Yeah, that's definitely West City.
