Hey, everybody! We're all from different worlds, so I was thinkin' - who's the strongest person where you come from?

Back home, I'm pretty sure the strongest person around is Whis. He's a... [Goku pauses, trying to think of how to describe him.] ...Come to think of it, I dunno what he is! Anyway, he's really strong - he can knock out the God of Destruction in one hit, and even travel through time on his own!

But there might be someone even stronger out there! [While part of his reason for asking is to hear about other worlds, it's mostly selfish - he wants to hear about the strongest people throughout the universes.] Doesn't matter who or what it is - I wanna hear all about it!

[Oh, now here's a question that Vance has thought about.]

[Well, in his head, it's more, "Who would win in a fight?", but still.]

On my Earth? Consistently, it's Thor. The Hulk can outstrip him if he gets angry enough, but it's not something that happens all the time. And...not something you want to get in the way of if it DOES happen.

Once you get off of Earth, though, it's...complicated. And cause for arguments around the breakfast table at Avengers Mansion.

Off Earth...possibly Sentry.

[Yes, Vance is still pissed at Sentry. But it's not like he can be THAT pissed since Sentry was used by Osborne as much as Robbie was.]

Though it could be a toss up between him and Galactus.

Doesn't Sentry count as on Earth? I'm a little hazy on that one.

[ Robbie was out of the loop for most of Sentry's hayday, but he knows enough to know that he was definitely on Earth for awhile. ]

And shouldn't Thor be technically off Earth? But either way, I think Sphinx should be up there, and anybody else who gets too world-bendy. Scarlet Witch, and that guy the X-Men keep going up against.

Sphinx is out of the running. Richie killed him.

[That was a very weird encounter.]

Oh.

[ That was a little blunt. Robbie's unsure of where to go with that knowledge; he doesn't look happy or unhappy. Just... processing that Rich does things like that now, again. ]

I don't know if that bit's made it back to Earth yet. Anybody else we don't have to worry about?

[Dude, he needed killin'.]

You know about Annihilus already, right? And Thanos is trapped in a dead universe, but it's Thanos, so maybe don't count on that sticking. Uh, who else...the Super-Skrull fought with the United Front in the Annihilation War and everyone who did that thinks Richie is great, so he's probably gonna stop making trouble for Earth, at least for a while. Same thing for Ronan, plus he's married to Crystal now.

[Stuff happened in space. Weird stuff.]

There are a bunch of others from the Cancerverse who aren't a problem anymore, but you didn't know they were a problem in the first place, so I don't think they count for the purposes of the question.

[ Space stuff. It's always weird. ]

Time out. How does getting married make a difference? Is he too busy baking cookies?

Asgard is currently stuck in Oklahoma. But it's always been a bit iffy about whether Thor counts as off world or on simply because Asgard is pretty closely connected to the planet, normally.

The first Sentry was Kree, but I'm not entirely certain about the last one. I think he was from Earth? But last I heard, he wasn't ON Earth, so that puts him out of the running.

I think we're talking straight up brute strength in this case. Or that's where I was going with it. I think Apocalypse could count, but I...think he's dead right now? Can he die?

[Vance does keep up a bit with some of the X-Men stuff, mostly because it does affect mutants a lot and he is one. It pays to know about their villains.]

Crap, I keep forgetting that Asgard's in Oklahoma. That - that was Osborn, wasn't it?

[ Guess who's not really thrilled that he has to talk about Norman Osborn. La la la, let's talk about other people instead. ]

I think we need to go with planet of origin for this one. Super-Skrulls don't count, Novas do. But, I don't about him either. Kinda glad he... happened though.

[ If that whole thing with Norman's crazy pants Avengers hadn't happened, Robbie could still not be free. ]

And if you have the power to do whatever you want, you can make yourself have the straight up brute strength. Like - hm. Can Doctor Strange boost his own strength? Things I should've asked when he was here.

Apocalypse! [ Robbie at least tries to know the big X-villains, especially since Firestar joined the team. It's not like Westminster is that far, and they're always under attack. ] If he's dead, that's more than I know. I can't keep up. The X-Men piss off everyone.

Are we talking actual people-people or is, like, Galactus in the running?
sir_vancelot: (OU - Heh)

[personal profile] sir_vancelot 2017-03-21 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I suppose it depends on the definition of 'person' in this case. I mean, I used Thor for strongest on Earth and I'm pretty certain he's not human. So I'd argue that Galactus is in the running.

Though that also puts Ego in the running and I'm just not sure about that one.
littlecousin: (um eww)

[personal profile] littlecousin 2017-03-21 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)
[The half-human gives Vance a Look, because defining "people" as "humans" is probably not what you meant there, bro.

But then he mentions Ego.]

...What if Galactus tried to eat Ego.

[Well now she's just disturbed.]
sir_vancelot: (OU - Umm)

[personal profile] sir_vancelot 2017-03-21 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
[Sheepish look.]

Sorry, sorry. That was dumb.

[The rest gets a moment of pause.]

Well, that's a disturbing thought.

[personal profile] littlecousin 2017-03-21 10:42 pm (UTC)(link)
[Nita takes a moment to be weirded out.

Okay, moving along.]

Yeah, anyway, if you're opening the door to Galactus, then you've also gotta count the Celestials and the personifications like Death and Eternity and whatever. And then you've got whoever's holding the Infinity Gauntlet?

[The Marvel Universe is terrifying.]

[personal profile] sir_vancelot 2017-03-22 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
Well, are we talking pure brute strength or are we talking just straight up any sort of power? I mean, I was thinking pure strength but you start getting into the rest of it...
littlecousin: (pic#6533404)

[personal profile] littlecousin 2017-03-22 06:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I was thinking "who would win in a fight" more than "who benches the most," 'cause pure physical strength sure doesn't count for much when the real power-players get started. I mean, Doctor Doom's a baseline human, and look what he pulls off just from being smart and mean.
superscholar: (anon just seems so easy to abuse)

[personal profile] superscholar 2017-04-05 03:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, my dad's counting Beerus, who's an actual God of Destruction, so...

Galactus probably counts.
