[ The footage clearly shows Gohan in his bedroom, the spiky black hair unmistakable. However, there are enough changes in his appearance to wonder if he'd done something different with himself lately. His hair stood straighter, he was wearing glasses, his clothing was less high school and more professional. But ultimately, what clinched it were his next words: ]

For a second there, I thought I forgot how to work this thing... anyway, hi guys, this is Gohan! How is everyone? I don't know how much time has passed here, but for me, it's been ten years since I was last here!

[ Suddenly, he pauses. Smile faltering, as a realization comes to mind. ]

Oh, um... is Chronoblivion still a threat? Or is this before that gets revealed? Oh man, I uh... I should've probably looked into that first...

It's only been a few weeks on our end. Chronoblivion's still around. You missed some nasty messes. I guess it was a good time for a vacation.

W-Well, it's... not like things have been quiet back home... [ What with Beerus and all that. ]

But, yes, Videl's with me. Not... very happy, but she is here.

[ He's old enough to actually recognize it now, even if he still can't respond to it well. ]

[ Grif performs a humble shrug. ]

But holy shit, ten years? You've gone full dad-mode. Look at you.

[ Oh god compliments how do you deal with those ]

U-Um, thank you... I um, I actually have a four year old daughter, believe it or not...

Ten years? Wow, that's... [One... Two... Three... Wait, how long ago did they fight Buu?] It's a few years ahead of me, anyway! How's Pan doin'? [He wants to ask if he gets stronger than Beerus, but he'd rather find out for himself.]

[ Sometime...in the last ten years, apparently. This is weird? ]

When I went to college. It was getting harder to read without glasses. Apparently I'm a little farsighted.

Oh, Pan's doing great! She participated in the World Martial Arts Tournament some time ago, and she did wonderful!

[ he's not gonna mention that goku left in the middle of it though. that's not really something that needs mentioning right now. ]

[ he actually needs a few seconds to think about what talk she's talking about. mostly because it was literally ten years ago for him. ]

... Oh! Um... wow. So... we were gone for maybe a month here, then?

All right! That's great - I'm sure she's really strong! An' how about you - are you a great scholar now? [Gohan's probably tried explaining what, exactly, he's been studying to Goku, but Goku tends to zone out when a lot of long words are used. Also, the series is incredibly vague on what Gohan's studying, from what I recall.]

...So, you and Videl?

[ Grif smirks knowingly. ]

[ yeah gohan gave up on trying to explain his career path to his father a long time ago. he was just glad goku was supportive about it. ]

W-Well, I wouldn't say I'm great... but I have plenty of projects, and a conference to attend at least every other week.

[ gohan's lying, he's totally great. he's just too humble to admit it. ]

Oh, Videl is here too, actually. [ and with a bit of a proud smile, he adds: ] And yes, she's my wife.

You went to college while you were gone.

[ He's babbling a little? Sure, but...weird! He was gone for a few months that didn't pass here at all, which was weird, but this somehow seems weirder. ]

So you went to college and got married and started having kids and over here I'm still watching the same season of splatterball as when you left and we're not even up to the semi-finals.

W-Well... just one kid.

[ not the point, gohan! ]

And... well, time travel's always been weird to wrap your head around. [ a beat. ] I kind of have experience with it though.

I only really dealt with time travel the one time, and that was...confusing even when Mr. Stark tried to explain it again later. I try not to think about it too hard.
