[The post comes a few hours after Kid Q's announcement, after Dave's been cleared to leave Medical and had some time to go hunting around the ship. He's still uncharacteristically defaulting to video, and a glimpse of his hands as he's just starting up the feed shows them thoroughly bandaged, so that's probably why he isn't typing.

He looks...tense, in a way. He's often pretty hard to read what with the shades and his deadpanning, but it's hard to get anything from his expression right now beyond a sort of stiffness, jaw just a little too tight to be chill.]

Anyone seen Karkat? Gray skin, candy-corn horns, yea high? [He indicates something like chin-height against himself.] Usually you can just follow the yelling but everything is quiet and somber as fuck right now and I can't get in contact with him. It's not usually this hard to summon him, all you gotta do is comment on Dane Cook's awful acting skills and suddenly you're being assaulted by a wall of grey text telling you exactly why your opinion is useless trash.

[He's rambling. Dave bites off any continued blathering, for a moment just appearing...unsure, almost, but then his face is blank again and he just shrugs.]

Hit me up if you hear anything, whether of the "distant screaming" or "actually useful information" variety.

[Oh no. Kubo never spoke to Karkat directly and has little idea how to find him, but now he feels the urge to go on a quest.]

[He cuts himself off before the "uh" is preserved on tape.]

Mother would like to invite you over for dinner tonight. [He's making this up but as if Sariatu will oppose him.] What would you like?

[He seems distracted. And maybe a little bit stressed. An attempt at running a hand through his hair suggests the latter, but the way he aborts the movement with a wince after a moment upon remembering why his hands are bandaged up definitely supports the former.]

Uh, I don't know. Whatever you guys are having? 'M not picky.

[They are so having PB+J and apple juice tonight and that will make UTTERLY TRANSPARENT how much Kubo orchestrated this because that is the only thing he has ever seen Dave eat.]

I'll . . . I'll get something. Don't worry.

[He debates asking Dave about Karina, telling Dave he's going to go check her hab, and decides to hold off. Later, maybe, they can have that conversation.]

I'll send Kubo to get you shortly before dinner is ready.

[ Kubo may have been making up the invitation, but Sari's running with it.

She pauses, then adds ] Bring anything you may need for the evening or morning. If you stay late, we have room for you to sleep here, and you won't have to worry about being without.

[ you're spending the night, Strider. ]

[Dave's expression twitches for a second with something like...frustration, maybe? He likes Kubo and his mom a lot and normally he'd be down for a slumber party. But the whole thing with Karina is heavy as hell and right now Dave just wants to chill with the one person he can totally relax with and just be depressed.

But he can't quite say "I was gonna spend the night with my boyfriend, actually," for a number of reasons. The most pressing one of the moment being that said boyfriend is missing, closely followed by the way his throat seems to tighten up whenever he even thinks of saying something like that to anyone here. So he deflects for the moment.]

I'll get back to y'all on that, alright? I gotta deal with this first or it's gonna bother me, y'know?

When you find your friend, he is welcome to come to dinner as well.

[ She might not say that if she knew Karkat at all, but what can you do? Not that it matters. Not that she knows it doesn't matter.

Her paranoia makes her worry that something might have happened to this Karkat, but she dismisses it. There's little reason for her to be paranoid here, right? ]

Have you tried searching for his omnicomm or his ring's comm signal? Or just an intercomm announcement?

If he's on Legion World, one of those would probably do it.

[If not, he's probably out of this mess.]

The quantum bands the Time Trapper stretched to bring your friend here have most likely snapped back. Statements from other teammates show that the most likely occurrence is that Karkat has been dropped home, at the split instant he left.
