Brainiac 5 | Querl Dox (post-zero hour) ([personal profile] googledox) wrote in [community profile] thelegion 2016-01-22 04:51 am (UTC)

This is...less than optimal.

[Brainiac 5 is clearly at one of the hall consoles in Engineering, rather than using his omnicom. Behind him the engineering staff is rushing around like chickens with their heads cut off, trying to fix sparking consoles and what looks like the wreckage of a small explosion. Brainiac himself is already sweating, clearly frazzled, his fingers moving rapidly as he taps away on a console below the screen.]

There are definitely multiple saboteurs. In Engineering, we're reading systems failures throughout all of Legion World and they all started simultaneously: life support, hull shielding, gravity control, fire suppression systems -- all vital systems that support habitation. It looks like they're even sabotaging auxiliary systems. Only some of the life pods are responding to evacuation protocols and some have launched prematurely. We can potentially evac all the staff but only by making multiple trips with the Bouncing Boy and the cruisers and we may not have time to do that before life support fails.

We're also reading damage to the sensor array that's causing coolant to leak into the gravitomagnetic encabulator and it's causing entoteric pulses throughout the ship that are causing intermittent outages in any vulnerable electronics. We can't shut down either or we risk Legion World losing its stable orbit around the planet. If we relocate Legion World the results could be catatrophic because the ship is acting as a gravitational counterbalance to the Lunar Debris Field to keep it from crashing into Earth.

[There's a reason Legion World is stationed around Earth when it would make more sense for it to be a safer distance away. The moon was destroyed some time ago when they were fighting an enemy and Legion World has been used as a counterbalance to keep the debris field safely in orbit ever since.]

All of you need to put on your transuits; they're in the kits we provided to you after you woke up. They'll automatically scan you and conform to your body shape. The entoteric pulses may cause intermittent loss of functionality but while they are functioning they'll provide you breathable air and protection from any environmental threats -- including the vacuum of space.

If you see any of the infected, report in with whatever you find to the rest of us. We need to discern out what the creatures responsible for this are, their motives, their mode of transmission, and if there's any way to safely cure the hosts. If you can manage a scan with your omnicoms, there's an option to transmit the results to the rest of us. That will allow those of us that are scientifically inclined to work on a possible solution and allow us all to --

[There is a pingpingping noise behind him and by the time he turns around to look at the source it's already too late. A complex array filled with pipes and complicated equipment suddenly explodes in a huge burst of flame and concussive force. The viewscreen cracks in a fractal pattern and Brainiac is knocked off screen -- or possibly has been blown up.]

[Okay, nope, he's not dead. He pops up like a daisy, his hair mussed up into a ridiculous number of cowlicks, surrounded by an aura of blue light -- his forcefield. It protected him from the worst of the blast but the concussive force was still enough to cause some damage. His nose is now streaming green blood. He holds up a shield to block the worst of the fires burning in the engine room from the engineering staff as they help the injured off the ground and start evacuating the room. One of them starts going for some valves but Brainiac starts yelling at them.]

Leave it! We need to vacate this section immediately! We can shut off the plasma conduits at the Miskar array!

[He briefly turns back to the broken screen.]

Do what Donatello said and head to life support controls and areas at risk of hull breach! If you can't access the internal sensor mapping, the staff can direct you at areas the intruders might target!

[He'd tell them to wait on Kid Q's orders but with the comms possibly going out intermittently, they have no way of knowing for sure that she's even able to access them right now. And he has no more time to waste. Fire is rapidly overtaking the room and he runs off to shield the staff and get them out. Eventually the fire causes the screen to melt and shut off.]
