In your situation, I wouldn't suggest it unless your bandmates are also heroes. Going big like that, people might start coming to see you and not the rest of them. That would be a good way to break everything up, unless they're fine with you taking over as the face of your band. But then it would be the Gwen Stacies, the Spider-Gwens, or the Spider-Women, not the Mary Janes.
It can be hard, getting started. Especially working as a Hero. But you've just got to keep with it. Now that you've been noticed for one song, people will know to look for you and suggest you to friends. The ball's rolling, you just need to make sure it's a snowball that's forming.
