Don't mind Brainy too much, folks. He's been under some pressure lately. But he does have a soft, squishy center. We promise.

Anyways Chuck Taine here, codename Bouncing Boy. Like Kid Q said, in addition to regular Legion duties, I'm the support staff coordinator, and give piloting lessons. The former is largely because I started out as support staff, and the latter because one of my jobs during that period was, and still technically is, chief pilot. SO if you have any questions about either subject, I can assure you I do know what I'm talking about.

Even if you don't have questions, you can always feel free to talk to me. I like talking to new people, even if these aren't exactly the best circumstances for it.

An engineer and a pilot yourself? Guess we already speak the same language.

If nothin' else I was good enough to be asked to take over an engineering and salvage operation not too long ago.

Shouldn't be too hard to get you up to speed, then, especially piloting-wise. The basic concepts behind flight haven't really changed, and most of the cruisers are set up to be ad user friendly as possible.

Or worse, so many meaningless buttons and panels you'll sooner use em for' a cup holder.

Yeah, no, not something you need to worry about. The ships were designed with multiple species, of a variety of different sizes, shapes, and sensory capabilities, in mind.

How about engine design and components? Did they stream line it or is it ridiculously complicated for laymen?

On the standard cruisers, it should be easy to get someone up to speed on. The threshold drives are where things get tricky.

Can you also teach us to hotwire the space ships, or is that more of an 'independent study' kind of thing?

I can, but I'm not going to. Not until i'm sure you know how to fly one in the first place.

Well duh. There's no point in turning it on if all you can do is crash it into the nearest solid object. And when three-dimensional space is involved, there are a lot of solid objects.

Also, fire.

Do this job long enough and you'll run into plenty of people who'd be dumb enough to do just that. Glad to hear that you're not one of them.
