[If Garrus looks a little bit uncomfortable, it's only because he is. He's not exactly at home in front of the camera, especially in any kind of official capacity. He's always worried - probably justifiably - about tripping up or saying something stupid.

[Still, he's already been pulled into another dimension and narrowly avoided death today. He's fairly certain he's seen the worst of it no matter how badly he botches his introduction, and for some reason that's reassuring.]

Hi, everyone. I'm Garrus Vakarian with ... honestly, I'm not sure what outfit I'm with anymore. [It's gotten very complicated over the past few years. There's a beat before he adds thoughtfully] I guess it's the Legion now.

Not really sure how all of this works, but I'm a former Citadel Security Investigations Officer, turian military before that, and up until recently I was the resident marksman on the Normandy if that means anything to anyone who happens to see this.

[Not that he expects anyone to.]

As for codenames, mine is Archangel.

[He pauses.]

That's all I can think of as far as introductions go, so ... I guess I'll see you all in the field.

Howdy there, Archangel. Welcome to the Legion.

[ Raynor wasn't sure why exactly he responded. He wasn't technically part of the Legion, so there were definitely other people better suited for this. Maybe he was finally loosening up about the Legion, or just feeling friendly or something. Whatever the case, he was here, tipping his head forward in greeting. ]

Or should I call you Garrus?

Garrus is a little more comfortable, but I'm not picky.

[ He pulls out a cigarette, lighting it. It was obvious he was pretty comfortable talking to an alien. ]

I haven't joined the Legion yet, so I don't have a codename.

[Garrus actually seems a little surprised. Maybe he shouldn't have been - after all, it would hardly be the most out-there thing he's experienced today - but he wasn't actually expecting anyone to recognize a turian.]

Already taken care of. Apparently there isn't much that the mess hall can't synthesize, so it shouldn't be a problem.

[The idea of entirely synthetic food wasn't exactly appealing, but it beat the alternative of starving.]

Normandy is a human name. What were you doing on an Alliance ship?

[He's noticed. Not that that's particularly strange to Garrus, coming from the galaxy he was. Good to know he wasn't going to cause too much of a stir.]

Any particular reason, or were you just not sold on the sales pitch?

[He doesn't. He's not exactly sure how to explain all of this to a kid -- he doesn't exactly talk to children often -- but he didn't mind answering a few questions.]

The Commander and I worked together on an investigation and after she was promoted to Spectre, she decided to keep me around.

Let's just say I've heard that kind of pitch before, and I wanted my money back and then some.

[ Granted, as the days went on, it felt less and less fair to judge the Legion based on the actions of the Sons of Korhal. But all the same, if they were on the up and up, then they wouldn't mind him taking his time to commit. ]

Don't worry, I'm plenty committed to saving lives. If shit hits the fan, I don't plan to sit around and do nothing.

[That's as scathing as only a preteen can be. They already know everything, after all.

It's a lot to take on face value, but I get a good from about the Legionnaires I've met.
Good enough to see where this goes at the very least.

[Garrus arches an eyebrow, mandibles fluttering out for a moment.]

We've been pulled across dimensions to a space station orbiting above a parallel Earth and a human Spectre is the unbelievable part?

Yeah, I'm really sure everything has calmed down and we're all friends now and not just pretending 'cause the asari made everyone play nice.

[Honestly, interdimensional travel kind of is more believable.]

Friends is a little strong, but things are a lot smoother than they were. Especially after--

[ He can't really fault Garrus' optimism here. If Raynor were younger, he'd absolutely share it. In a way, he still does. He's just not ready to commit until he's sure beyond a shadow of a doubt that he won't get stabbed in the back.

Something that he absolutely didn't know how to be sure about. Not yet. ]

Fair enough. Sometimes a man's gotta follow his gut, or whatever the Turian equivalent is.

[ A pause. ]

I'm assuming that's the name of your race. I could be wrong here.

[You'd better be going somewhere with this, buddy.]

["Optimism" is a little strong. Garrus may be getting a good feeling from the Legion, but he's not walking into this blindly.

[Raynor isn't the only one who's gotten stabbed in the back.]

You've got it right. [Garrus reassures him.] As for following my gut ... whether the Legion works out or not, it gives me some idea of what I'm in for, and if what they're saying is true I'd rather not turn a blind eye until all of this comes back to bite me.

[ And agree with it. Whatever his status with the Legion is, it wasn't gonna stop Raynor from helping with the Chronoblivion thread, if it's as big of a threat as everyone makes it out to be. ]

I'll tell you this much. Whatever happens with the Legion, it doesn't change the fact that I've met some interesting people ever since arriving here. [ A chuckle, as he takes a puff from his cigarette. ] Also starting to get used to having powers. Not something I ever thought I'd say, really.

Have to warn you, you chose something of a weird time to come in. There was a time travel incident recently, and it's causing a few temporal hiccups. Long story short, there's going to be a brief period where some of us are jumping along our personal timelines.

[The one-eyed young man is frowning curiously as "Archangel" translates oddly into his archaic native Japanese. It's a tricky concept to translate but it reminds him too much of his mother's family for him not to be curious.]
