It's less an issue of anything being haunted, although that can certainly happen, as it is an issue of attracting the wrong sort of attention. Making all that information easily acceptable to the masses is a good recipe for an accidental conjuring, and some entities can get stronger based on the amount of people who know about them. Belief is a powerful thing, figuratively and literally.
