[He dodges the age thing and cuts off discussion about it by just rolling his eyes. As teens do. Moving on seems the best way to not get stuck talking about his age.]
Meh. [He shrugs.] If they're wrong, agonizing over it won't fix it.
[It'll suck for his family but him magically disappearing off the bus means at least they won't automatically default to thinking he's been kidnapped by a normal human creep or dead in a ditch somewhere . They'll probably (rightly) guess he got zapped to another dimension or something. Maybe great uncle Ford will even try to find out where he went. Maybe they'll worry, but at least they won't grieve.]
And what does trust have to do with anything? The Legion seems pretty trustworthy. After all, they gave us these comms and their network to talk to each other over.
["Their" network. The word choice and the way his tone changes is subtle but there's no way he's openly saying that he distrusts them where he knows they might be monitoring or recording it.]
[And he does distrust them. He's not dumb. He knows they might be telling the truth that they're not behind bringing them but their situation does seem rather desperate. But since he can't explain that he doesn't 100% trust them he has no way of explaining that it doesn't matter. Whether this is an adventure where has to protect people from monsters and save the day or a conspiracy to be uncovered about them being kidnapped by the Legion to their world -- or both -- he's ready for it. If it is all a big conspiracy, somebody has to uncover it.]
I don't think everything's going to magically turn out okay, but like I said, I've dealt with way worse things than this. Like, there's way lower chances I'll be shoved in a giant nightmare throne made of petrified bodies this time. Or eaten. And I don't have to look for food in dumpsters or anything.
[Yes, he sounds excited about that. An adventure that isn't the end of the world is fun in his eyes. He also doesn't even realize it's an odd thing to say.]
