So, we've got a bunch of new people. If we haven't met yet, hey. I'm Jason Lee Scott. In the field, you can call me Amp. But Jason's fine pretty much anywhere else. It's great to meet all of you. I'd turn this into a general introduction and powers announcement thing, but I think I'd hurt Grif's feelings if I stole his gimmick.

But we are gonna get to know each other outside of the regular Legion-mandated training. Don't worry about that. See, I've been saving up my money, what I haven't been sending to charities supporting recovery efforts on Naltor and Winath...

[And here he pauses for a moment to insert links to information on those charities.]

...Yeah, anyway. Like I said, saving stuff there, and I've got enough to afford a three day retreat. I mean, last time we went to a beach and it was great, and free, but I figure one or two of us have had enough of swimsuits for a little while. So this time, I figured that I'd put it up for vote.

I'm looking at three choices here. No pictures, we'll let some things about this be a surprise.

Option one: Plain ol' camping in the woods. I can get us a reservation in Yellowstone. Apparently Old Faithful isn't quite so faithful anymore, but we've still got cliffs and trees and all of that. We can chat, maybe do a bit of training while we're there, explore, all that. It'd be great.

Option two, and this one is neat: There's a campsite that's actually on an asteroid. One that's got two others in a stable orbit around it. Apparently Brainiac 3 used to use it as a lab or something to work in private, but the Coluans have confiscated everything after they died and all we're left with is three huge asteroids with low level gravity and an atmosphere. They promised me that there aren't any killer robots. [They actually seemed a little offended that it had been a concern.]

Option three could be a bit risky, but it still sounds cool. This one mad scientist made this hollowed out planet and filled it with an artificial ecosystem. It's got a fake sun, atmosphere, giant mushrooms... It's a little humid, but there's already some buildings, bathrooms with showers, and cooking sites set up, complete with, uh. 'Primordial beast repelling sonic fields'. Probably not going to be too much of an issue if something gets curious, though. Gravity's going to be a little higher than Earth's, though. 1.2 Gs.

So, uh. Yeah! Vote for which one sounds good and I'll set everything up for us to get on a week or two from now. Same as last time, you guys just get a bit of say in it now. We can set up campfires, cook some s'mores, play some games, get to know each other when there isn't a big crisis going down... It'll be fun!

Don't be ridiculous. [Don't be like Aizawa's thought process, here.]

Rationally, you don't increase your weight limit in drastic amounts. It would naturally be a series of incremental requests to increase the gravity until I reach a natural threshold!

Of course, this only means you'll have to keep visiting me regularly. Skipping sessions wouldn't work out for you at all.

...Historically, that question ends in me sandwiched between a couple of women in a restaurant booth at three in the morning and someone getting a food-related nickname. My only advice is that you'd have to ask someone who hadn't seen this post; otherwise their bias will affect the results, and ignore any arguments about language and communication.

Sure, you'll have rest intervals--[Aizawa didn't seem slowed down at all by Jason's clear tone of concern.]

The potential muscle damage would need some comparable down-time. Even so, you could easily return to a fair schedule in a few weeks!

No one's been stuck with that one yet. Though we did have a sort of breakfast theme going until a rather spectacular sushi incident.

...Please don't leave it up to our fans, they might find us some kind of crazy shirtless Vegas planet and then show up there with the space equivalent of an Elvis impersonator who can legally perform marriages.

Over-analysis is taking a process of thought too far. I believe my level of analysis is completely appropriate.

[Basically: He reads too much.]

[Tadashi chuckles a bit too.] Me and the nicknamer are the only ones without one at this point. He can't quite get one to really stick for either of us.

[He rolls his eyes skyward. It's not me I'm worried about, in either case. My fans seem to be fairly low-key in comparison to, say, Nova's; and a regular workout routine is important for continued good health. Plus it helps me focus better and light things on fire by accident less.

Why wouldn't it? It's already a fact that living in a higher atmosphere increase one's lung capacity. There are rare chances in which you can improve on the parts of your body that don't have muscles.

[He was clearly imbalanced and mad with power.]

Seize every opportunity to improve.

Simple exercise is sometimes extremely effective if done consistently enough. Besides--it's a method similar to weight training. You could do just as much damage to yourself exceeding your normal weight limit.

In this capacity, it's the same as adding weights to your ankles and wrists.

[He was aiming more for gains in stamina--since bulky muscle wasn't really anything he wanted.]

I'm fairly certain it's only easy in terms of planning. It's not going to be enjoyable at all for me.

He's already dragged a recliner from goodness knows what back alley into the lab, I don't think we're gonna name him king of anything.

Grif seems to enjoy poking the hornet's nest, doesn't he? And I've got a power-dampening gauntlet that keeps me from lighting things on fire by accident until I get things fully under control. But everyone still might want to stay ten to fifteen feet back if I'm responsible for setting the fire.

[Even if Jason couldn't see Aizawa--he would likely be able to hear the shrug in his voice.]

Except, your organs don't typically behave like muscles. The base comparison is generic enough to get the point across but it's more about moderating the amount of oxygen that gets set in your blood stream and how your heart pumps blood.

Gravity has an effect on that as well. Essentially speaking, it's theorized that gravity shifts could affect your equilibrium as well.

[And yet, Aizawa was trying to reassure Jason with this information.]

I don't think it counts as stolen if someone threw it out first.

Sure, why not? I'll light some fires. Just make sure we've got a fire extinguisher handy.
